How to rent??

I was sure that there was a place that recommends the best way to go about renting DVC points so that you can be sure ( or more sure) not to get ripped off. Can someone tell me where it is?? Need asap!!

This would not be the place! We are the owners so you would probably just want to look at other boards maybe?

We rented on here a few times before purchasing and never had a problem w/anyone. However, my sister and BIL are very paranoid about stuff like that and they found a real estate agency in FL that was going to set up the rental arrangement for them. I know there were contracts and things to make it more secure. It was also more expensive that way than renting directly from owners here on the dis, but still cheaper than going through CRO. Unfortunetly I don't know the name of the agency she dealt with, but if you'd like I can try to find out.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. As JMLBrats said, there are rental agencies that some people use.

If you are looking to rent points here, through the rent/trade board, then a few points would be to:

1) Look at number of posts - not to say that a new poster is unreliable...just that those with higher post counts have some history behind them.

2) Never send payment by Western Union or other money order.

3) Be sure to have verifiable contact info of the owner, email addresses, phone numbers, home address, etc.

4) Be sure you have an agreement or contract that spells out the specifics of your rental...payment dates, cancellation policy (if any), deposit forfeiture, etc.
