How do I pre-purchase the beer mugs and wine package? Do I truly have to download the order form off the website and fax it? Surely there is an easier way...

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

From the In-Room Gifts page on the DCL website:

Two easy ways to order gifts:

1. Call (800) 601-8455
2. Download and complete the gifts order form, and fax it to (407) 566-3760.

So, yes, there's an easier way.

We called the # and just ordered it with our cc - it was waiting in our room upon boarding. Our friends just got theirs at the bar the first afternoon on board. Whatever you prefer :)
Last time we sailed it was same price at the bar as by ordering ahead of time.

So if I get it delivered to my room, do I just take a bottle into the dining room with me each night? There is no additional fee for that?

Wine packages have no additional corkage fee. And you get the wine in the dining room. I don't believe it's in your room. The beer mug, however, is a token (or possibly the actual mug) and could be in your room.

The beer mug is a piece of paper, not the regular token card, that is in your room. You present it at a bar and they either give you the token or they give you the mug. I've yet to see the mug in the room.

To order I always call. That way we can make sure they have everything in the computer correctly.

I ordered the beer mug by calling about a month before our cruise (Dec 2015, Fantasy). I expected to see the mug in our stateroom when we boarded but no mug. I went down to guest services and they confirmed that they had the order in the system. About 30 mins later, there was a knock on the door. A lady from the stateroom next door asked if we'd ordered a beer mug. It had been delivered to her stateroom by mistake.

Not sure who is responsible for making the in-room gifts delivery but our other gift wasn't delivered until after dinner.

I ordered a mug for DH for our last cruise by calling ahead of time. It was sitting there waiting for DH in the room when we got there.

The mug was in my room on our last cruise. I'm not sure I see the benefit of it though. I went tot he bar and got drinks before our room was ready and didn't have the mug yet...it would have been easier to just buy it at the bar. Unless it is cheaper to buy in advance

I ordered the beer mug for my dh on our first cruise at the end of this past September. Ordered by phone. It was waiting in our room when we boarded.

If you're someone who boards early and wants a beer early, then just buy onboard. Otherwise you have to wait until you can get into your room, it seems.

The mug itself doesn't appeal to me. You get more of the beer they have on draft for the same cost as less beer. I don't *want* more beer of the kinds they have onboard. Therefore, no beer mug for me.

Take a bottle of... ? We took our beer mug (or token) to the main dining room each night and the servers still brought us the beer to have with dinner. You are given a beer token when you are done with your mug for a while so you don't need to carry it around, when you are ready to get another beer just hand in your beer token to the next bartender/server. Beer token is just a piece of paper.
Not sure if this is what you were asking, but if you are talking about pouring your own beer in that you bring on board and then taking the beer mug with you to dining room, that's fine I think. You are allowed to bring 6 beers a person, although they are supposed to be consumed in your stateroom. Not sure how they would know though that it's your own beer.

I believe one of the questions combined the beer program and the wine one.

With a wine package I always got some sort of certificate/coupon which I showed the wine person in the dining room and then you order off the list appropriate to your package . . .

So sorry about the fragmented post...
I did ask about the beer mug initially, but my fragmented post was regarding taking a bottle of wine into the dining room. I called DCL - no corkage fee.

If the wine was purchased on the cruise, then there's no corkage fee. If it's a bottle you brought onboard, there's a corkage fee. Sad to say, the CMs that answer the phone don't always give correct answers.

If you purchase the wine package, you'll pick up the bottle of wine AT dinner, it won't be in your room.

Yep, works like a champ. Not sure where you got the idea that a token or mug was in your room, it is your receipt in the room and that works miracles at the bar! We drink very little, but I do enjoy a beer once in a while on the longer cruises. Calling in ahead and speaking to a human works like a champ;.

I've been using the same mug for 2 years. I put it in my carry on and use it at Bon Voyage. I'm not officially on the cruise until I have a beer in my hands. This last cruise I finally just brought my card home. I've somehow ended up with three mugs and a chit even though I've only paid for one.

Mugs have been in the room, it was for me

I don't understand all of this hand-wringing over pre-ordering a beer mug, when it will arrive in the stateroom and in what form, etc. The mugs are available for the same price on demand from any bar where the vouchers or tokens can be used, several of which are open well before you have access to your rooms. I don't see why you'd ever pre-order one if you really want one. I do see why Disney sells them as a pre-order item: someone may buy it pre-order on impulse, but not do so once on board, from a passenger's perspective that wants one enough to ask about it here and try to figure out the pre-order system, just buy it on board and be done with it. Simple.
