I know I'm getting way ahead of myself, but I'm sure that the girls will have outgrown their summer clothes by January. I'm thinking of picking up some new things a size up on clearance, but I'm not really sure how warm it will be at that time. The historic averages say 45-72 or so. How have people packed for a trip at this time of year? Thanks so much!

LOTS of layers. It will feel really cold in teh early morning and after the sun goes down, usually pleasant but cool during the day, and downright cold at night.

With the humidity levels down here, 70 can feel cooler than 70 feels up north.

We take jeans, t-shirts and sweat shirts. One year we never woreeven a sweat shirt but another year it was cold a day or two. DS has worn shorts a few times but I would not buy new summer things just for the trip. DS Also swims in January but I find it too cold for me. We LOVE January and are so looking formward to being there the third week of january this comming year!!!!!!!

We were just there this year and it was too cold for us to swim and we are from PA. We did t-shirts and long pants, coats and sometimes sweatshirts between. We took off some layers at lunch time and then had to put them back on around 5ish.

Thanks for the responses. Maybe we'll take capris and long play dresses with hoodies instead of shorts. DD (4.5) won't wear pants!!

Think we can get away with fleece jackets, or do we need our winter coats? We're from New England, so we'll have our heavy winter coats anyway.

I have never been in January but I went last year in December just after Thanksgiving. It was COLD! I checked the weather websites before we left to get an idea of what the forcast was going to be. I packed one pair of shorts each and ended up buying htem each one more pair. In winter here they always have a Tee shirt on under the shirt they are wearing for the day so i packed plenty of Tees, Long sleeved shirts, sweatshirts, pants and sweatpants. They each jad a jacket that was 2 layers one was a sweat jacket and the other a windbreaker type. They were worn many times together or separately. I did bring a bathing suit for eeach of them onthe off chance it did get warm. I think that was one of the few items that went home clean.

We've been to WDW in January twice - the standard type day was sweatshirts with shorts or capris in the a.m., remove sweatshirt midday, put it back on in the evening. We were able to swim one day on our Jan. 2004 trip - wasn't cold at all. We never needed our winter coats/mittens/etc.

Nylon jogging suits worked well for our family. If it was cool at night we added polartec vests. Perfect and easy.

It's really a crapshoot. I've seen Januarys when the weather was balmy and beautiful enough to swim, and I've seen January's when it was in the 40's all day.

Like I said, layers and layers.

We spent 8 days in Disney this past January. We brought jeans, shorts, t-shirts, & our matching Disney sweatshirts. I'd also packed turtlenecks for us...what was I thinking?! No turtlenecks were needed.

* We did bring hats & gloves which we used on a few early mornings & some evenings.

Somedays, we wore jeans with a t-shirt, some days shorts with a t-shirt. We only used the sweatshirts in the evenings. We did go to Blizzard Beach twice...but be warned...the lifeguard assured me that the water in the lazy river is not heated..and oh...it was cold!!

You will love Disney then. We pulled the kids out of school for a week to go then & crowds were VERY low. Have a great time!

While I didn't go to Disney, I went home to St Augustine Florida this past December/January. I guess this new england weather is growing on me, but I was fine in jeans and either just a long sleeve shirt and some days a t-shirt.
