How to order a cake to your room upon arrival?

I wonder if there is any possibility to order a cake which will be delivered to you room before arrival. As much as learned from this board this is not possible, is this true.
Anyways where to you order cakes?. Can I do this in advance directly at the hotel via mail or telephone and how do you choose the cake you want to have?

I don't really know much about the details, but I did read a thread that had a ton of pics and info, and it's all about ordering cakes. I thought it was in the dining section...I probably just missed it, but I know it's there, probably on a previous page?

1) Cakes/packages/gifts/flowers are not in the room at arrival.
2) Sometimes it can be done if you are staying Club Floor.
3) And then, not always.
4) The room assigned to you might not be your actual room.
5) Would be embarrassing for someone to eat 1/2 your cake before it arrives.
6) In addition, there is no way to schedule delivery and when the room is cleaned.

Where are you staying? If you are staying at a deluxe resort, you can caontact your hotel and get in touch with the in room dining folks and let them know what you want.

There is a sticky thread at the top of this page with the popular links includig the cake thread. Those cakes I believe are for ordering for eating in restaurants.

The hotels will not place anything in your room though. Too many times rooms are reassigned.

The cake thread will have lots of info about both restaurant and in-room cakes. You can call the 407-wdw-cake hotline and follow the prompts to wherever you'd like the cake to be delivered. Rusty Scupper is right though. And, I wouldn't want to chance it. Our last trip to the Poly, our room was changed after we checked in but before the room was ready. We had gift baskets that were supposed to be delivered and, yep, they were misdirected to the wrong room and went missing for a couple nervewracking hours. If I'd known what a mess it would be, I would have had them delivered the day after we checked in!

Maybe have a cake waiting for you when you return from the parks instead of on arrival?

Reading you comments I really think I better change my plans. I think I will now have the cake delivered to be in our room on the day after arrival. We do stay at POR and hopefully this will work there.

Disney has been offering cake delivery to ALL resort hotels, not just deluxes, for awhile now.

That might be a problem. Not aure that POR has a bakery
