How to modify

I'm trying to modify a stay. I've never done it before, but undoubtedly I'm doing something wrong. I'm trying to change the dates so that I leave 3 days earlier. So instead of staying the 7th to the 15th, I want to leave on the 12th. I go to my dashboard, find the reservation and click "Modify". Then it brings me to a page that looks like the "plan your vacation" page, with the size of villa and location already set. So I change the dates from 7-15 to 7-12, and it gives me the little message that the changes aren't set until confirmed (or something like that), tells me I'm "almost there-then...NOTHING. I've tried this twice. Actually what I ultimately want to do is go to another resort (I checked-as of now, it's available) for the 12th-15th. However, when I try to book those 3 days, it keeps telling me that those 3 days aren't available at the new resort, although they always are when I first look. This has been going on all day. What am I missing?

It's a known glitch in the system. I get the same thing when trying to add our granddaughter to our reservation. And my brother couldn't book a SSR 2BR that appeared to be available online bur was actually just a phantom room.

You gotta love Disney IT. I cannot imagine any other successful company with such bad IT. Others can be pretty shaky at times but no one is as consistently awful as Disney.
 
I don't think you're doing anything wrong either, best thing is to probably call MS to do it.
 

Welcome to the club. Been there. Hoping we don’t have to wait until July 17th to get this fixed, but sadly I think that might be right.
 
When I contacted MS via the e-mail option, I mentioned I could not book anything, nor waitlist, nor modify.

I became so frustrated, I bit the bullet, and waited and finally got to talk to a CM, who was able to do what needed to be done. She mentioned that they knew about the problem.

Well, yesterday I got an email back from MS, and the email stated that on June 30, a waitlist was made, something was booked, and a reservation was modified, so apparently, I was able to do the things I said I couldn’t do. What a snarky email reply that was!! All those things were done because I CALLED.

Wow! FWIW, I'd forward a copy of that email to T. Schultz expressing your disappointment with this response, given that the situation required you to call and wait on hold for xx minutes to get it resolved. MS could have at least acknowledged the website issues & apologized for inconveniencing you!

With every email response, there’s a link to a survey regarding satisfaction. I started taking it, then just left. The questions didn’t help me express what I was feeling. Your idea is better.
 
I've been seeing the same rooms available at different resorts for early Dec. I said to DH, hey we can do one night OKW, two nights Rivera, one night Jumbo, one night Kidani.... We would not do that, so I didn't check them out. After 4 days of seeing the same rooms, I clicked on each one....room not available. over and over.

Now I wonder were there rooms I missed cause they weren't showing.
 
Thanks everyone. Turns out I WASN't doing anything wrong, just like you said. The system's screwed up. I called MS to modify my dates at BCV, which they were able to do with a 1/2 hour phone call. Then I tried to add 3 days at CCV, which I'd seen several times in the past couple days was there-nope, she tells me that now I have to waitlist. OK-but then I went on the website a few hours later, and it says CCV IS available on the dates I want....until I get to the point of "Sorry, the room is no longer available". Clear cookies, clear history, re-try website. Aha! CCV is still available, until-again! Oh, well-at least I still have the waitlist.

That seems to be the big issue. The calendar is not correct for certain dates and so what is there isn’t really for certain rooms but it for others.

I said earlier that the only plus is that it’s not letting people book rooms that are actually gone.
 
Hope you tried again. I've had the same situation you described, but this afternoon have been able to modify twice (doing a split stay). Good luck!
