Ok, I need someone to give me tips on how to make time fly.... We're planning our DW trip for Jan 2012 and time is standing still. I'm dreaming Disney and can't stop planning... please, please tell me how to make time fly by????

Keep doing exactly what you are doing: reading the DIS Boards. I promised DBF that I wouldn't start planning our Nov WDW trip until our June RCCL Alaska cruise is over. So I'm reading the boards every day to make the time go by.

We have been planning our trip for a year so far and still have half a year to go, so I know the feeling!! Though my DBF is sick of hearing about Disney ( though he loves it dearly ) I try to talk about it often with him and planning when and what he wants to do. I search for better online deals which helps the days go quicker plus there's an oppurtunity to find flights cheaper, etc. We still have a long way to go but being on here helps alot too! Idk if my Disney mood will ever go away! We've already starting to discuss our first Disney Cruise which is happening a year after this trip to WDW!:)

Rent all the Disney movies you can find! That's what -I- did! It was also to help me prepare cause there was a lot of classics I haven't seen in many years.

I feel the same, I was hoping for a return trip this year but after having a rough pregnancy means I haven't been able to work much to save for it...and the fact I'm having a baby lol I am hoping to push my return trip for next year. I've been coming on these boards everyday reading all the tips and information that'll hopefully make me even more planned for next time.

I take a different approach, after I make my ressie at 11 month, nothing again until 7 months when I switch and then nothing again until 6 months when adr start. Then is full on, disboards, disney movie nites, priming the kids. 10 days to go so its the full court press now!

I have the same problem! I want my trip to be here now! I have been watching a ton of disney movies, searching the disboards, and just about anything else disney I can find!

We also do the Disney movie nights (I have a couple posted on the mentioned thread). I am trying to make sure we cover movies that are either rides or shows at Disney, especially ones the kids haven't seen (like Honey I Shrunk The Kids, Indiana Jones, Haunted Mansion???).

I also love keeping an eye out for things when shopping. Ive picked up lots of fun little things already. I am putting together backpacks for the kids for the plane. I am also planning on leaving a gift/treat from a Disney character in the room every afternoon. I've already bought these light up disney toys from the Disney store and they will receive those on the night we go to Fantasmic.

I'm also working on making Epcot passports, stroller license plate, dinner invitation, "Heard You Were Coming Letter", shirts/outfits, etc.

As you can tell I'm really excited for our trip and love creating things for it! Have fun and good luck making your time fly by!

I feel your pain!!!!! I just got back March 6th and the next day I was on the boards.. I plan on going the same time next year (end of Feb.) I just wish it wasn't so far away..

:) Disney music....from the rides, the parks, the movies...whatever I can get my hands on. So far I have about 470 songs, about 27 hours worth I think. I listen to them A LOT.

I listen to DisRadio and look at the pictures we have from previous trips. :) Since we booked our next trip at only 55 days out I have also been busy trying to make ADRs. I can't believe that with only 55 days to go that I managed to get a ressie at Le Cellier for the date of our anniversary! :)

That’s where Ive been since 8/2010 when I booked our 12/2011 trip. It’s the longest wait ever. Joyous and painful. “Yay we’re going” then “Only 487 days - *sigh”. So until I get there I guess the only way to survive the waiting is to have a Disney moment every day until we leave. So where and how do I get my “moments”?

Planning the trip is a joy for me so I buy just about every guide/travel book I can get my hands on to help keep me busy and not thinking how long away our trip is. The Unofficial Guide, Birnbaums Official and Passporter are my favorites.

Scanning the Dis Boards for new and interesting news on what’s happening at the WDW parks & resorts is helpful. It was especially nice to read/hear what everyone was doing this past December so we know what to do and what to avoid for our upcoming December trip.

Allears.net has a great weekly newsletter that I look forward to. I use their website for the latest news & planning info – I especially like the restaurant menus section. It helps me to know where we might like to eat and then plan ADRs.

The Travel Channel also has what I call “Disney Days” where they have shows about Disney. Some maybe a little old and dated but who cares it feeds the need.

Disney has a cute countdown clock for your computer desktop – its “The Disney Vacation Connection” which has been helping me to get that “we’re getting closer” feeling. disneyparks.disney.go.com/downloads/ - not only does it give you the days till your trip it also has little tidbits of info on the parks, resorts and events. I love the magic button.

Movie night is great fun. We’ve watched so many of the movies so many times that we can’t help ourselves – we do the dialog. This then leads into the “Name that Movie” game. “I'm at the top of my game! I'm right up there with the big dogs! Girls, come on. Leave the saving of the world to the men? I don't think so. I don’t think so……….”

So if all of that isn’t enough – it’s time to get silly with your family and play “Pick a Park”. Pick a Disney park, any park, then using Disney mobile, Touring Plans Lines or another smart phone app pick an attraction – you’ll be able to see if you were at that park, at that moment, how long you’d have to wait to see that attraction. Kids learn the attractions, what wait times are and helps you to talk to them about what they could be doing while they are waiting. No one likes a cranky queuer.

Thanks Dis-ers for being a Disney moment for me today – keep those ideas coming.

260 more days to go……. Let’s see – Magic Kingdom – How busy is …….. Haunted Mansion and the status is……..

I'm working on pre-trip scrapbooks - getting pages ready for what I know we will do - i take lots of pictures so that isn't a problem(maybe deciding which to use - then any others get in the extra pages)

& yes I do mean scrapbooks - I got 4 started - thinking of doing another for meet & greets or characters

Oh, I know what you mean! My trip is a little more than a month away and I can hardly stand it. I want to know the trick to stopping time though once I finally get there. We wait and wait for the trip and before we know it, it's over! Hang in there.
