Tips for using window shrink film for your basket. I used to do this all the time for baskets. I used wide, clear shipping tape. I put the tape and ends on the bottom. I did use bows, I just taped them on the top of the basket or on the highest items. Use shreaded tissue paper in the bottom, you may need to use a filler such as crumpled up newspaper, under the tissue paper to bring your items up to eye level. Start with the largest, heaviest ( your wine) and put that in the back or middle (depending on if you are making a basket that is pretty and viewable from all sides or just the front) . If its Christmas time I always use some of the floral picks, small decorative plastic arrangments, some have pine boughs, bows and ornaments.
I also used clear tape, regular width, to hold items in place before I put the shrink wrap on. You can also use the wide tape to patch holes in the shrink wrap ( this may happen when shrinking) Or you can use the wide tape to form a seam on the sides it's almost invisible. It helps to have a helper, someone strong to hold your basket while you tape the bottom.. and remember that it should sit level when you are done.
If I was making a wine and cheese basket I would include a wine journal, wine, a cork screw, wine glass charms, pretty wine glasses, coasters, a cutting board, cheese knife, decorative snack plates ( paper or ceramic) pretty paper napkins, chocolates..Pretty dish towels with a wine theme a win cooler, and an ice bucket.
Another great idea is to Theme the basket to one or 2 specific colors.. all packages will be the same color.
Good luck! It sounds like so much fun!
