When we booked our package (ASMo last week in Aug) I didn't make any room requests beyond booking a preferred room. After looking at the resort map, and giving it some thought, I would really like a room in the toy story section, it's one of my DS's favourite movies and it will be his birthday while we are there, so I think he will like that. How would I go about requesting that, do you just call and ask, or is it better to send an email? Also, anyone know what room might be the best there? I was looking at the ones that face away from the middle cause we are going with my parents and I want it to be quiet for them (they really wanted a mod, and I convinced them to come to the value, so I want them to be pleased). Also, LAST question, I promise!! Is the top floor noticeably quieter than the ground? My dad has had two hip replacements, and a bad knee, so stairs are not good for him, but I guess he could take the elevator if the third floor would be much quieter.....TIA for any input!!!!!

We stayed on the third floor at the resort in the Mighty Ducks section NOT facing the pool. I don't recall it being noisy at all. About the room requests...You should call reservations and have your requests added to your reservation. Then about 5 days before your stay, send a fax to the resort stating your room requests. Of course, include the name the reservation is under, date of arrival, and reservation number. Requests are not guaranteed, but this may help. Also, I've heard that you are more likely to get your requests if you arrive earlier in the day. Good luck and have fun!

When we make our request, we always make sure they note it at the time we make our ressie...in order of most important to least, which usually we only have one request (connecting rooms) anyway. A few days prior to our check in date, we fax the resort w/ our requests again, and then ask again at the beginning of check in.

I have found that upper levels, away from the pools generally tend to be the quietest.

Good luck and have fun!

You can call now and make the request. It'll just be added to your reservation.

For your father, I would ask him if he would rather have a first floor room that could be noisier or would he be fine with taking the elevator for an upper level floor. Have him make the decision on that one. And then call back again and make that request as well.

The room controller that assigns the rooms doesn't know when you called with your request. They just see the requests.

I just called the reservations number to request the jazz building for our stay at ASMu next week. I was told since I didn't book through Disney (used AAA) they can't take requests.

That is correct, if you booked through a TA then the agency owns your ressie and all requests must be made by them. Call your TA right away and have them make the request.

Those who try faxing, keep in mind that there have been reports of certain resorts not reading the faxes anymore, simply way too many to keep up with so they just throw them away. I would think this is especially true at the larger value resorts.

We've faxed our request a few days prior everytime and have not yet been blacklisted for doing so. Not to mention we've gotten our requests each and every time. We've been assured at check-in that they were recieved. It may or may not have made a difference, but it didn't seem to hurt anything.
