I need some ideas by more thoughtful and creative people than myself!

We are doing our 1st Disney Cruise - Wonder to Alaska - end of June. It's in between my 40th birthday and my husband's 50th. We are going with my parents and brother, MIL, SIL+BIL, 2 nephews and one fiancee, and our two kids: 18 month old and 3 year old.

I want to do something special during the cruise for my husband's birthday - any ideas?

(Note: we already have a PALO reservation and I'm going to make a door decoration for him. I'm also going to bring his favorite bottle of champagne)

Don't forget you can order a cake ahead of time. You might have leftovers, so if you get it earlier in the cruise, you can enjoy it here and there. You can get it delivered at dinner, you can get it delivered to your room I'm pretty sure. No candles allowed, but for my daughters 9th bday, they added some long/tall chocolate curls standing up on the cake to appear like candles. There was a white chocolate plaque with "Happy 9th Birthday" written in dark chocolate. We ordered ahead of time and could pick from a list of options (cake, frosting, filling). We added a note indicating her favorite character since I was not sure if they added things like this to cakes, but the cake did not have any particular Disney touches, instead it was nicely decorated with fresh fruit/chocolate "candles"/plaque.

You can order birthday decorations for your room and it will be up when you arrive in your stateroom, I think. You could bring your own, just cannot use anything that will damage walls/door so magnets are pretty standard to use or gel clings on the bathroom mirror (do not use clings on any other surfaces, as I've seen them stain various painted and wood surfaces on land).

Happy early birthdays!

I celebrated my 50th last year on our Norway cruise. I made a note on my reservation and they brought me a celebration cake, sang Happy Birthday and gave me a birthday button to wear around the ship. I also went to Palo and they brought my a plate with Happy Birthday written in chocolate. Best of all, it didn't cost any extra.

Took my wife on a cruise for her 60th birthday. The main special things I did were book the Walt Suite (price wasn't outrageous for our 5 night cruise). That was less than $5K for three of us. The other special thin was that she thought it was just the 2 of us going. Surprised her by bringing our 4 adult children, on long term boyfriend, 2 husbands and 6 grandkids. Hardest part was keeping this a secret. She found out about the others coming when the surprised her in the port terminal in Miami. Found out about the Walt suite when she was going to open the door and one of my daughter told her to look at the nameplate on the door. My daughters made it a challenge to actually do this cruise together. One had a baby 12 weeks before the cruise (cruise was booked before the higher minimum age was changed so we were grandfathered in) and another daughter was approaching her 24th week of pregnancy. Had a great time. Since we where concierge, I was able to book two cabanas on Castaway Cay to hold everyone in our group, but unfortunately due to high seas that day we were unable to dock.

We are celebrating my husbands 50th next week on a 4 night Dream cruise followed by a few nights at the Yacht Club at Club level.

For the cruise, I got the stateroom decoration and the decorated cookies, and am booking him a massage on his actual birthday which is the day we are at CC. :) In the past we have dined at Palo (he was not impressed) and he has the beer mug already. He did not like the Rainforest as much as I did but he has not had a massage yet, so that is the winner.
I am working on a surprise at YC with the concierge team there. :)

We will be celebrating our anniversary on our next cruise. I booked the Ultimate Indulgence package at the spa, dinner at Remy and a cabana on CC. You didn't mention which cruise you are on. I also chartered a private boat on Grand Cayman so we can snorkel with just our family. Per person, it wasn't any more than doing one of DCL's excursions.

very cute - we do not have a verandah- but we will see the cost when we check-in. and the last time there was a cruise - I ended up with my son...9 months later...
You should conceive another child on the cruise! That would make the cruise and your husband's 50th birthday very special! Congratulations in advance and enjoy your cruise!
