I just want to lose 5 pounds by V-Day,nothing wrong on the medical side just want to get into smaller jeans since the last pair are a little tight in my size

Hi CourtasanSatine nice to see you over here.

Good idea dealing with those 5 lbs before they become 10!

You'll get good ideas here, but it would help if we know a little about your current eating habits. It could be as easy as drinking more water, cutting out snacks, or just portion control, but you may already be doing that. IMO, cutting carbs will be the 'fastest' way to drop some pounds. And moving around more always helps.

So, tell us a little about how you eat now and you should get lots of suggestions.

South Beach Diet - I lost 16 pounds the first two weeks. It is not a temporary diet, though - it is a lifestyle.

ok,I am the queen of tv dinners and anything that can be nuked.I am the worst cook to be honest.I do drink my share of water but I love Dr.Pepper and my candy:) I go out for pizza or fast food when with DBF(ok,it's cheap but we split popcorn at the movies)

I just want a excuse to buy new jeans for V-Day and those 5 pounds are in my way

You know, if you only have 5 pounds to loose, you could probably stop eating the soda, sweetened drinks, processed sweets and foods. Also exercising (unless you already are). Those few things would probably make a huge difference.

I lost about 5 pounds on my first week of WW's. I think you have to look at the different programs and figure out what interests you. What could you stick with. If you change your bad eating habits and learn to have healthier habits that you stick with for life, you shouldn't have to "eat less" or would only have to do it for a very short time.

Good luck! You can do it!

Ok, I see that you posted when right before I did.

After looking at how you eat, I think you could easily loose 5 pounds by eating healthier. I still have pizza all the time, but now I just eat veggie pizza and we make our own alot and add a little whole wheat to the dough.

Try to learn a few easy meals that you can make instead of tv-dinners. I have a few things that I can make on "fend for yourself" nights. They are low points and easy. The DR. Pepper and candy could easily pack on the extra 5 pounds. Make sure your popcorn is "no butter" when you go to the movies, and buy or bring bottled water to drink instead of soda.

You could very easily do it, by taking a look at what you eat and adjusting some. Just find healthier versions of the things you love. No need to deny, just learn to have a healthier eating style.

ok,I do spilt the popcorn with DBF if that helps:)

my other thing is karaoke night: I usually only drink soda and we spilt something like Buffalo Wings or Cheese Sticks

I am starting to work out, those jeans are my goal after all but need ideas.I am starting dance lessons again but that's only 2 nights a week

any ideas for healthy tv dinners or goof proof easy dinners??

I love the healthy choice pizza's and the lemon pepper fish dinner is great too. I always cook these in the oven never nuke them. They are fantastic!

Do you have access to a grill...like a George Forman grill. There's hardly anything faster than throwing a chicken breast, brushed with a little olive oil and a spice or two (rosemary, basil or just some pepper) or a pork chop with some dill weed (my personal favorite) on the grill or in the broiler. Just don't overcook it. Grab a bagged salad at the grocery, some presliced mushrooms and nice vinagrette dressing...salad in minutes. Throw some frozen green beans in the microwave (the little skinny FRENCH ones!). Dinner in 15 minutes.

Also, there are more and more fast food options too. Bunless burgers or grilled chicken sandwiches. Subway has lots of options and the new $6 Burger at Carls Jr. is VERY filling (that's the name BTW, not the price..it's like four bucks). Just skip the french fries.

If you are having very much of the full-sugar soda and candy, just replacing that can make a difference. And, for me, cutting way down on the carbs (starches) made the sugar cravings go away.

Good luck!

I only had 12 grabs of carbs for dinner(a frozen one from the microwave at that).I can see smaller jeans before I know it

I think that caffeine helps me to lose weight. As long as you don't overdo it, caffeine can give an extra "kick" to your metabolism to help you burn off those pounds. I seem to lose more weight in the winter when I have 1 cup of coffee in the morning than I do in the summer when I don't drink coffee at all.

Yes, caffine CAN be good for your metabolism (in moderation). Black Coffee is a zero point item on WW. If you use sugar, switch it to Splenda. Go very lite on the cream or try 1% milk if you can't handle the black stuff.

Plenty of great frozen dinners out there that will help you reach your goal Lean Cuisine, WW, Healthy choice...... If you're going out to eat, grab a salad at the pizza joint before the pizza. That way you will fill up with the good stuff before the bad stuff gets there!;) Also, I'm the queen of healthy eating at fast food rest. McD's GRILLED chicken Salads are great - just make sure you get the lowfat dressing, not the regular!!!! Or skip the dressing altogether. BK also has salads. Wendy's small chili or side salad or baked potatoe. See? Lots of choices!

Good Luck and keep us posted!

If you just have to have fast food, stick with the smallest size portions of everything. I go to McDonalds and get a hamburger happy meal. I take off one of the buns and fold the burger in half. I do get water instead of pop though. I hardly ever drink carbonated drinks now. Mainly water or hot/iced tea.

Pizza is fine...i cut 1 piece in half, it makes me think I'm eating 2 slices. NO pepperoni though!

5 pounds is easy to loose...it's tougher when you've already lost alot of weight and just have 5 pounds to go.

I'm trying to eat better but guess what just got in the way, time of the month

I'm trying to work out(did situps during CSI: Miami and will do the same thing with another show tonight)
