My daughter is getting married on the 23rd. I want to live stream the wedding ceremony so my 90 year old parents can watch, and the responsibility of doing this has been handed to me. The photographer is not doing a video.

Has anyone done this? Any tips? I do have an ipad stand and an updated ipad, and I've already removed sound notification from all apps.

I just want some tips on placement and which platform did you do it on...youtube? facebook?

I would use either WhatsAp or Skype.

Both parties will need to have the same platform open.

WhatsAp works through Wifi and a mobile phone numbers.
Both parties download WhatsApp to their mobile phone.
One party video calls the other party.

Skype works through Wifi and email

I use both Skype and WhatsApp video calling on a regular basis.

Facetime would be the easiest. Wouldn't hurt to check with the wedding ceremony space and/or reception space to see if they offer live stream.

One a personal note: For Oldest's graduation, we were offered full video of the graduation about 3 hours after graduation took place that we shared with family. They had a photographer and we bought every picture they took of Oldest. Way better than what we could of done ourselves. Therefore, I didn't have a cellphone, camera, or video and enjoyed that once an a life time moment through our eyes and not through a lens watching Oldest walk across the stage and the rest of the afternoon with our Oldest before texting pictures/video to family. That time was priceless. Same will happen for other milestone events in our kids lives.

First thing I would do is find someone else to do it. You really don't want to watch your own daughter's wedding through an iPad screen while filming the ceremony.

My sis used Skype …during COVID lockdown.
I must say, it was Wonderful and So much more intimate than
I ever thought possible.
congrats to ur family OP
and good luck with the set up.

I have an iPad stand and it will be set up somewhere in the venue. I will be sitting in the front oblivious to the video that is happening

All of this.

Delegate or pay for anything you can!

There's always someone willing to help out and grateful to be asked to help on such special days. And probably someone (usually a friend of the bride or groom) who easily knows what and how to do it.

Congratulations!

So for those saying find someone else, that's not going to happen. It's happening in another state, is a small wedding and I'm the one who wants this to happen, so it's my baby. I was hoping someone could give some tips. If anyone did it, and can give any heads up tips, I sure would appreciate it. Thank you!
