Can anyone help with this situation?

I booked the first night of a spring break reservation for my cousin using my DVC points for her AKL reservation. She is using her points to book the last four nights at AKL.

1. We have to call MS and Link the reservations to make sure they stay in the same room? Right?
2. We have to call MS to be able to have her buy the dining plan on the first night of her trip since this is on my points.
3. Will she be able to have both reservations on her MDE when adding the tickets to their MDE? Both reservations are identical in room, and names on reservations.
4. Will they have to check in and out on the first night? Room should stay the same right?
5 I would have preferred to just transfer the points over but she was traveling at the very beginning of the start of my next use year so I was using banked points from 2014. I couldn't have transferred banked points right?

Thanks for any help. Going to call MS today with a three way call so she can purchase the first night of dining plan.

1. Yes
2. Yes.
3. Yes, as long as name in MDE account and reservation are the same.
4. They should no longer have to do that because they apparently fixed the system to allow the resort to just combine the two and make for one check-in and check-out. That was our experience in 2014 when using linked reservations at both BLT and BWV and I assume that is now true at AKV. However, I cannot say AKV will do that for certain. Either way you will not have to change rooms.
5. You cannot transfer banked points.

I was told that they could not link my reservations unless the same DDP is on both reservations. What they can do is put in a request that we do not switch rooms but there's no guarantee.

If we removed the DDP from the first part, MS said they could link it and be guaranteed that we don't switch rooms.

Ugh! More confusion from DVC CM's!

We just got off the phone with DVC and added the dining plan to the first night reservation (on MY points). The CM said that the reservations were already linked so they wouldn't have to change rooms but in order for them to add and pay for the DDP on the first night they had to UNLINK them. She unlinked; added the payment information and processed; and then relinked the two reservations. She did say "lets see if I can relink without too much problems". So I guess they have had problems in the past.

Thanks everyone for the help. I THINK we are all set. I just hope my family doesn't have problems when they are there. They are crazy enough to go Spring Break so I'm sure it will be a mad house. :faint:

Oh and the CM did say they still needed to check out after the first night and check back in but that they should stay in same room.

So they have the dining plan for just the first night? I just tried to do something similar on Thursday and they told me it wasn't possible to link unless the two reservations were identical, with the same DDP on both.

No they have dining plan on both reservations. The full five days is booked but the first night accommodation was on my points and the last four nights were booked with her points. She had to have me call to add the dining plan to the first night of the two linked reservations. I'm not sure if she could only pay for one night. Sorry can't answer that.

They have to have them not linked to add the DP then link them. They can do that and have the DP for either segment or both.

If linked they won't have to move rooms but they will have to check in again. I rented to the same person last year and this year and that was the process for both times and I was using points from separate masters and the linking with the same owner.
