We live in California so I am not willing to get up at 4am to practice for a BG. Obviously, later in the month we will be in Florida and happy to try at 7am at that point. Can anyone put a link to the most up to date how to get a BG so we can at least watch videos of how to get them or any other tips? I heard I can't try for the 1pm drop since we are not in the park.

Any thoughts?

You can use the Disneyland app and try at 7 and noon, though without DL, you have to have tickets tied to your account to practice all the way through.

also, you can use the WDW app for their 1pm/10am pst boarding group drop. You only need to be in the park to actually get a boarding group. You’ll just get a message had you been successful that you’re not in the park, similar to the message you’d get at 7 saying you don’t have a reservation

Here’s a YouTube video:

Yep, posts 1/2 on that thread ^^^ will help. Short version. At 7 am precisely, hit JOIN JOIN JOIN three screens in a row. Don’t stop to read anything, just push the buttons.

Not really, other than the WDW app shows all friends and family tied to your account on the second page while DL only shows active tickets. Otherwise, they're both join join join. Disneyland boarding group drop is lasting a bit longer than WDW , but usually goes within 15-30 seconds, whereas WDW they're gone nearly instantly.

So if you don't have active DL tickets, you'll be stuck on the final join button unable to get a not in park or no reservation message.

I did that in the past 2 weeks while there, JOIN, JOIN, FULL. I started at 6:59. Very Frustrating

This video is incredibly helpful! The last time I was in the parks to ride Rise of the Resistance was December 2019, which required a 4AM wake up to get into the parks. Will need to practice this before our July trip!

A quick follow up question: should everyone in the party try at the same time? Will it increase the odds of getting a reservation, or will we get an error message?

You can all try at the same time using the same login.

Disney Cams were taught to use this as a reason for not getting a bg, so if you have problems and need to report something, just say only you were trying. This isn't really an issue, people report doing this nearly every day.

Thank you for the advice - I was looking on reddit this morning as well and the recommendation is that everyone should try on the same account!
