See if you can have WDW moved to Alaska for the week.

Other then that, I got nothing.

We took our LO at 4 months old the end of September and she was just fine. We made sure to keep her out of direct sunlight and also had her in lightweight clothes.

:) Don't stress about it! Plus every time you go in someplace it is nice and cool.

I also wore her a lot while we were there and neither of us was too hot for it.

I'd suggest taking one of those dollar store spray bottles, filled with cold water and spray the mist on baby fairly regularly. Disney sells those stroller fans, but nothing better than a cold mist on hot skin to keep baby cool.

Same applies for kids.

Sunscreen - you can safely use a product like penaten on child that young to protect against all possibility of sunburn. Totally effective and no need to reapply. This tip came from disney child care centre.

Maybe attach one of those soft mister fans to the outside of the stroller? As long as its out of the baby's reach, you can turn it on to help keep the baby cool. Other than that, I suppose just dressing in lightweight clothes and spending time in air conditioning when possible (super easy at WDW) is the best option.

Thanks for the penaten tip I didn't know that was a sun blocker as well. I am looking into fans and my wife already has one of those shade covers. The stroller we are taking is a jogging stroller and where the baby lays is all mesh so I. Am sure it will be fine I just don't want to risk spending a day of our trip looking for a fan

For a 4mo old, i might suggest a different stroller other than a jogger. I would imagine your 4mo is going to sleep a lot and like to lay on a flat surface. When our peep was 7mo, we had a stroller that could sit up or lay flat. The canopy would shade from sun while leaving both ends opens to allow for cross ventilation.

The biggest thing we found was to seek indoors and shady areas whenever possible, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate and keep him dry. Changes were frequent. We also would lay cotton towels on teh cushion of hte stroller and change them out a few times a day to keep the stroller dry.

Personally, I would stay away from mister fan on teh baby. If using a regular type fan, i would not put the breezed directly on the baby. It would be too easy to give the baby a chill when in a shady area or in a place with AC. Disney tends to blast the AC pretty hard in the summer months.

Our jogger is mesh and behind the back is an adjustable strap. If you tighten it the back is upright, if you loosen it they lay down. She actually really likes sleeping in it when we go on walks which is why that is the one that I wanted to bring

I am a fan of the stroller fan. I would use caution when applying sunscreen to an infant (unless you have used it before and you know the baby is not allergic to it), little people have extra sensitive skin.

The baby will be fine, just take breaks if the baby needs one. Lots of rest and hydration.

Have a great trip!

Because this thread began over 7 years ago and more modern strollers have high-tech construction, closing.
