how to insert a link

Trying to figure how to insert a link in a reply post. I know I can type the LONG link address, but how do I link to the site just using the work "link"?

When you post your reply there is a button in the vB code section "http://."

It will first prompt you for the text that you want to show up in the post, and then for the URL of the link. Try it out here first if you want.

So no matter what, I still have to type the link address, can't highlight and drag or anything like that?

You can copy/paste the URL into the second prompt text field. Either right click into the box and paste or click in the box and paste from the browser menu. I rarely type a URL in for accuracy reasons (no laughing Bob).
