How To Hang Window Decorations?

Making final preparations for our Christmas window decor at POP and was hoping for a few tips on what has worked best for you when hanging decorations. I know many suggest using the suction cup hooks which should work for most of our decorations. Has anyone ever used zots or glue dots? I was wondering if they would be ok. They are easy to remove and shouldn't leave a mark.

Also if you have used vinyl, did you cut it in mirror image? Or attach to the outside? We had a couple of sayings that I was going to cut out on my Silhouette and was trying to decide on the best way to do it. Maybe it's easier not to mess with the vinyl and just make a paper sign??

Any advice or tips would be appreciated! This is our first window decorating venture and we are very excited! Thanks in advance!

I've used suction cups on the windows for hanging happy birthday banners and balloons. I used magnets on the door.
