How to hang garland on staircase?

I just twist the two ends together and leave it! That way they look like one long piece.

I also do not put them up until after Thanksgiving.

Well thank you all for the advice. I also used to wrap it but the lighted garland I bought i way too thick to do that. My garland came in the mail last night...so I got motivated today and went and bought some zip ties. And I put the garland up...a little early, but its better than having the boxes lay around. They work great! Thanks everyone...I don't know how to post pictures here, but maybe I'll try after I take a picture (and clean up all the mess I made doing this ) Thanks!

Fishing line. It is practically transparent and holds very well. One spool will last you for many, many years to come.
