How to Handle one child out of 3 who isn't tall enough

I have one child who isn't tall enough by 1 1/2 inches to ride the 40 inch rides. My question is do they do anything as far as one parent riding and then switching so the other parent can ride while the other sits out. I thought I heard something like that in the past.

Also, how picky are they will the measuring anyway when they are so close in height. We live near Hershey Park and they are very picky with the ruler. Do you think she might make it in?

You can use the kid switch to have one parent ride with the others, then switch. The taller kids will really love this, 2 rides in a row!

Disney is very picky about the height requirements. Sorry.

Last week I did see them letting kids on things that made it close to the mark. Also, they do a child swap thing. I stayed off the ride with my youngest while my wife and other son, and her family went on. Before anyone gets on tell the CM at the front of the line. They will give you a fastpass that is good for 3 people. So as soon as one of you is done, you take the fastpass and get right on again.

i remember i was a jolley rancher and needed to be a twizzler to ride a certain ride!

The parent swap is great. My youngest is finally tall enough for R&R this year..his sisters are going to miss riding twice in a row, once with each parent while the other watched DS!

So are you going to the front of the line or do you have to wait until your fast pass time is up? Also, do the little one and the one parent wait outside or do they go through the line and wait at the front?

We had the same situation. My hubby and I just took turns taking the little dude on "his" rides while the other took the older two on theirs.

Example; I would take the older two on Space Mountain while hubby took the little guy on the Indy Speedway (I think that's what it's called). Then we'd meet halfway between the two rides and all go ride Indy Speedway together. So Little Dude got to ride it twice.

I think it would have been very hard for the little guy to have gone through the entire line of a ride only to be told at the end "sorry you can't go on it, you have to wait while we all ride, but YOU CAN'T!" He never knew he was missing out on anything, and he got to ride all of "his" rides twice. There aren't that many rides with restrictions. We still had tons of family together time. It worked out great for us.

It depends on the ride. On star tours we went up to the ride . Other rides wont let you past the first checkpoint with a child that is too small to ride. So when the first parent comes out the second one gets into the fast pass line....or otherwise ahead but not necessarily at the front. You shouldnt have to wait for a fast pass time but may have a wait in the fast pass line.

How old is your youngest. My son was almost 3 and it was our first trip doing anything like that and he was so dazzeled by everything it wasnt really a problem that he didnt get to go on stuff. Of course my dd wasnt 44 in yet so there wasnt a whole lot she could ride that he couldnt.
