For Christmas the boys are getting plane tickets to go see their grandparents. Any suggestions as to how to give them? I don't want to do a big balloon surprise or anything like that since it is not a Dinsey trip. :guilty: Is there a website where you can print out fake airline tickets or anything like that? Or any other ideas?

Thanks

You don't mention the ages of your sons but one idea I have is to wrap a clue in a small box and then wrap that box in the next size box, do that as many times as you want. The clue will lead them to the fake airline tix.

e-tickets can be reprinted. If they have been purchased attach them to a toy plane or a note attached saying where they boys are going.

The boys are 13 and 11. We have done the scavenger hunts, suitcase with clues, etc. I feel if we do something like that, tickets to Grandma's might be a disappointment. :rotfl2: But, they will get to go snow skiing, so a snow theme might be cute.

Use your color printer. You can print a "gift certificate" good for one R/T plane ticket.

or

You can print a picture of an airplane, picture of the grandparents (or their city) and some kind of text. You can use google to search for images if you don't have program with clipart on your computer.

Do they need any new snow gear? You could do a couple of cute snow themed gifts with the "ski trip" as the finale. Maybe attach them inside some new gloves, coats, boots, ect.?

Why not wrap up a picture of the grandparents?

I was going to suggest a teddy bear holding the plane ticket but then I saw the ages.

Thinkgeek sells instant snow. It's a dry product that becomes snow when you add water.

How about getting a toy or model airplane and attaching a banner on the back of it that says "Bob and Bill are going to grandmas!" on the back of it like it's one of those planes that flies around with the banners on the back?

Thanks for the ideas! I love the idea of the picture and snow. I even have instant snow I was going to put in their stockings. So instead it will go in a box with a picture of the GPs holding a sign that says come see us.
