37 days until we leave!

This forum has been such an amazing wealth of information! I've lurked for a long time.

We are spending 7 nights at the Vistana resort but preceding that, we are going to spend one night at the Beach Club in a standard room (9/25/2004). How does one go about asking if there are upgrades available? Do I just come right out and ask the CM when check in?

Thank you all!
Laura

One possibility is to send a polite, possibly humorous little fax a few days before your visit and request an upgrade. If you have a good reason (celebrating something, for instance), include it. We did that a couple of years ago when my sister and I went on her "Kidney Transplant Vistory Trip) (after a several year wait for a new kidney) and got upgraded to a savannah view AKL room. It was a wonderful addition to an already wonderful trip. (I no longer have the fax numbers, though - probably someone else on theboard can help out)

And yes, you can ask at checkin time for an upgrade. Or ask for a good view, or whatever else might be important to you. But don't expect to get it. If they are not too full, and the checkin clerk feels empowered to upgrade, they probably will. If they can't, they can't.

I would just ask nicely what it would cost to upgrade when you check in.

As far as faxing many of the resorts no longer look at faxes. If you have any requests have them added to your reservation.
