My BF got an amazing rate from direct air but it goes to the Tampa airport. Her and her DD are going to spend two days in Tampa, before meeting us in Orlando. What is the cheapest way to get from Tampa to Orlando? Is there a shuttle? She will have to catch a flight super early on the 27th. Anyone know what a cab will cost?

Thanks Disers

I think you would get more and better responses by positng this under Transportation.

A taxi would be very expensive I imagine as the trip is about 80-85 miles depending on where you are in Orlando and the I-4 can get pretty congested depending on the time of day they are traveling. I would recommend doing some searching on travel companies like Greyhound buses or other shuttle companies that likely do scheduled runs throughout the day between the two areas.

Best to rent a car. On our last trip, our flight to MCO was cancelled and the closest JetBlue could get us was into TPA. We landed late at night, and thankfully they paid the bill for a limo to drive us to MCO.

That bill came to about $180 -- ironically, our rental car company wanted $150 to switch our reservation from MCO to TPA. But JetBlue wouldn't go for it, and insisted on the limo!

It's about a 90 min drive. I'd rent a car. You can rent a 1 way, returning it in WDW- to the Care Care Centre, Alamo or National. Budget has a desk at Doubletree in DTD. And Avis is in DTD Hilton, so there are a few options.

Please note that Direct Air does not fly into Tampa. Quite likely they are flying into Lakeland Airport (LAL) rather than Tampa (TPA). The only practical way to Disney or Orlando is with a rental car. Lakeland is closer though than Tampa.

KingBob is correct.
DirectAir fly into Lakeland which is about 45 minutes from WDW (about halfway between Tampa and Orlando off I4).
Hertz and USave are supoposedly setting up In Terminal car rental facilities to coincide with DirectAir's first flight to Lakeland.
Its a bit misleading in the DirectAir website because it calls the Airport Tampa/Lakeland,
