We are staying at Pop Century. Will it be better for us to drive everywhere?
I personally prefer to drive myself everywhere at WDW. It's far quicker to self-drive, especialy from one resort to another, than it is to wait for busses, boats, and monorails all day long.
But even if you don't feel like driving yourself everywhere, I still recommend taking your car for ADRs at other resorts, because of the time involved in getting from one to another.
To get from Pop to the Wave, you would have to take the MK bus from Pop, then get on the resorts monorail at MK and ride around to Contemporary. This will take you about 40-60 minutes, depending on how long you have to wait for teh bus at Pop, and how long you have to wait for the monorail at MK. Driving direct will only take you about 15 minutes, as long as you don't get lost!
To get to HDD, you would take a bus to MK, then take a resort launch to Fort Wilderness. rom the boat dock, it's a short walk to HDD. Total travel time, about 50-70 minutes, depending on how long you have to wait for the bus and boat. If you self-drive, you will have to park at the Outpost, then take an internal Ft Wilderness bus to the Settlement, which is where HDD is located. Total travel time, about 30-40 minutes, depending on how long you have to wait for the internal bus.
To get to Boatwrights at POR, you would again take the MK bus, then get a bus to POR. Total travel time, approximately 45-90 minutes, depending on wait times for the busses. If you self-drive, it will take you about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic and the route you take.
Check this map I made on Live.com; it shows all of the WDW resorts, and you can zoom in to see all of the roads and determine the easiest driving routes. If you decide to self-drive to any of these ADRs, let me know and I can give you my preferred routes to avoid the heaviest traffic areas.
