I know, I know, left at port of indecision (all you parrotheads will get that). Anyway, we are looking for a relatively inexpensive way to get to Margaritaville at Universal. We don't really want to put the money into a town car, but didn't know if there were any inexpensive ways to get there. Also, about how long does it take from say, Epcot area - we're staying at CBR. Thanks in advance!

It depends on how many people you have in your party. You can always take a cab. Not sure how much it would be. It's only about 15-20 minutes away, depending on traffic.

Personally I think you would come out cheaper renting a car for the day. With an advanced ressie you could probably get a good discount. Out last trip we stayed at Disney then our last 2 days stayed at RPR and the van services we used--Fl tours charged us $30 for the one way trip. That is cheaper than a taxi and so round trip I think it would be atleast $50 or $60 minimum.

Have you ever been to Margaritaville?

We went to the one in Key West. I ordered the "Cheeseburger in Pardise" which was described as "just like the song". Imagine my surprise and disappoinment when it didn't come with Heinz 57 (not that I love heinz 57, but I wanted to experience the song. When I complained that it was not like the song - I was told , well everybody doesn't like it that way but I can bring you some Hienz 57. A big let down. Of course, the big kosher pickle and cold draft beer didn't come with it either.

Mears also provides a bus to the "other parks" (i.e. universal, seaworld). We have done that in the past. Last time it was $9.00 per person and they came ever hour to pick up.. so depending on how many of you there are..may be cheaper to get a car for the day - or just pay the Mears fee if you don't want to deal with the car thing.

if you take a cab be sure to ask for a yellow mears cab we took one and it was 9.00 then we took another brand of cab and the same trip was 17.00 they told me to be sure to ask for yellow cabs mears. have fun

I'm going to move this to our transportation board for you.

Thanks everyone for the great ideas. There are 3 of us (1 of whom needs a car seat), so I think we'll either do the cab or else rent a car, depending on what the rates are. Also, DH may just go by himself while DS and I lounge by the pool. It'll give us all a break from one another as I'm used to being home all the time with DS and very rarely with DH due to his work schedule.
Thanks again!
