How to get to Jiko?

Hi All... We are staying in the Beach Club Villas this trip and I'm wondering the best way to get to Jiko for dinner... Do we catch a bus to the Epcot entrance and then grab a bus to the Animal kingdom Lodge? If so - is this a long trip? (want to be sure we're not late)....

I usually plan a hour for travel time when changing buses. I've never been late given with that plan. I usually catch a bus to animal kingdom and then hop a bus to the lodge from there. AKL buses only serve AKL, so the rides are very quick.

When we go to resorts for dinner we usually take the first park bus that arrives at our hotel (as long as that park is close to our hotel or our destination) and then at that park transfer to our destination bus. The BC would be convenient to Epcot or DHS or the AK since the AKL is where you are headed. Like the previous poster we leave our hotel room an hour before our ADR to ensure that we are there in time. We usually figure 15 minutes wait for bus one, 15 minutes to wait for bus 2 and 15 minutes travel time give or take a few minutes. You can always enjoy the resort or browse the gift shop if you arrive early.

You could take the bus to AK then transfer to an AKL bus, or you could walk from your hotel to DHS(or ride the boat) and take a bus to AKL, I don't know if there is a bus from BC to Epcot since there is a boat and a walking path to the International gateway entrance. As pp said, always allow about an hour for resort to resort trips.

It depends on what time they have their dinner ADR vs the buses running for AK.
There shouldn't be buses running to AK after 5pm on days they close that early, unless there was evening Extra Magic Hours.

There is no bus to Epcot from the Epcot resorts. It's all International Gateway entrance. You'd have to walk through Epcot to get to the resort bus to AKL.
I think the best way would be using the Studios bus or taking a cab. The final alternative that makes a LONG bus trip would be going to Downtown Disney and changing buses there.

Good point, I totally forgot that AK usually closes early. So the DHS to AKL and AKL to DHS is the best bet using Disney transport(assuming DHS is open late enough for the trip home).

I save ahead and budget a cab to AKL for our dinner at Jiko. Resort to Resort transportation is time consuming. To reiterate, there is not a bus from the BC to Epcot, so that can not work.

The best=quickest way to get to the AKL if you do not have your own car to drive is to take a cab. All other options will involved taking either a bus or a boat to either DHS or AK and then taking a bus from there to the AKL and then doing the reverse. Way to much effort IMO.

My vote is for the cab. Years ago we took a cab from WL to AKL and it was not very expensive and a lot less hassle.

I'd take the bus to AK and then to AKL. I would also allow plenty of tiem to walk around the resort and take pictures of the animals.

As I was reading this thread, I was thinking... if yuo are at the hotel, get a cab. I'm glad other people suggested it. Is there a site that shows rates?

My vote is for the cab. Years ago we took a cab from WL to AKL and it was not very expensive and a lot less hassle.

DEFINITELY, a cab. Too much time wasted taking buses. Enjoy...it's our favorite restaurant.

Another alternative, to necessitate only one bus and burn off calories before dinner, is to walk over to DHS and take a bus directly to AKL.
