How to get there...?

Hello! :D I'm not sure that I posted this in the correct forum when I posted this, so I'm reposting and deleting the thread from the other folder.

i just wanted to get your guys' input about what the best way to get to Universal would be from where I am at haha... a little clarification:

I just, by some miracle, managed to get my mitts on a room at Royal Pacific, and since I have an annual pass, the entry to the park is also covered. The last and only thing left on my plate is to figure out how to get down there (I am from Savannah, GA, just for clarification purposes). A plane would be stupid. A train isn't much less expensive, either. My list is now as follows: either a Greyhound, or my car. The trouble with the Greyhound is that once I get to the Greyhound station in Orlando, I'm not sure how I would get from the station to the theme park. Would public transportation be viable? Would it get me to at least International Dr? The trouble with the car is that... it is my understanding that to leave the car parked at Royal would be a $20 cost. I plan on being there from Monday to Saturday, so that would put me at $120... plus the cost of gas to get there and back.

If anyone has any insight on my plight that you can offer, I would most appreciate it! Thanks for everything! :D

I have heard this from several people who actually tried this and it worked for them, but I cannot confirm whether this is officially true from Universal or not, but...

It is said that if you LEAVE your car in the hotel parking lot for the whole length of your stay, you aren't charged for parking, or might be charged for one day. if you come and go throughout your stay, they will charge the $20 per day.

I wish I could confirm this one way or the other. If you're staying for nearly a week it's easily a $100 "bet".

Greyhound, just take a cab. I would probably drive if I lived that close. Yes the hotel charges per night even if you don't move the car. Why do you think flying is stupid? If there are flights from savannah to orlando the airlines and passengers in hose flights think it's a good idea. Maybe check out the airlines' cyber Monday deals today? Of course hen you're looking at transportation from the airport.

I actually checked out airline deals, and it still ended up making more financial sense to take the Greyhound, so that's what I went with. I might have been able to justify airfare if there was some sort of transportation to Universal, similar to what Disney does. But even than, it would have been more expensive than the cost of a Greyhound plus taxi.

This is absolutely wrong. If you bring a car it is added per night the same as the room charge.

Besides, as soon as you use your room key to get out they know it's you.
