We are going to FL in October for a week and flying form boston - orlando and then back to boston. however for the week we aare there we will be at wdw for a few days. then we are going to the tampa area to stay with a friend for a few days.

i'm trying to figure out the best way to get from WDW to the tamp area and then from Tampa to Orlando airport. Anyone have any suggestions.

i wasn't planning on getting a car for the trip. but now i'm wondering if i should get a car just for the tampa days.

Rent a car. There's no convenient public transportation. If Greyhound or another bus service even does that run, you'd need to get from Disney to the bus terminal and then from where it drops you to your friends'.

Someone seeking similar information recently found it would cost $140 for a car service between the two cities.

Your only option is going to be a rental car. But, are the fares really that much cheaper flying into/out of MCO?? Why not fly out of Tampa to head home?? We do that all the time. But, that may not be an option for you at this point.
So....you can rent from Alamo/National at both the Dolphin and CCC. There are other rental companies in the hotels at DTD...Budget is at the Doubletree for instance. It should take you about 75 mins to make the drive from WDW to Tampa.

yeah i actually looked into flying out of Tampa. It was MUCH more expensive for me. Also I have non-stop flights now. From Tampa there were no non-stop flights, most had 2 stops. With is jsut not an option for me when i'm traveling alone with my 6 year old... i prefer to keep my sanity. :)

yeah i was thinking the car would be my option. i'll probably look for a weekend rate and jsut get it for those days. Can i pick it up near disney and then drop it off more near the highway?
