We just got back but we are already thinking about next time. Should we fly again, with our DD who will be 4 yrs old by the time we probably get to go again. Shoul we fly again, drive? We live in Buffalo, NY. WE are trying to think of what would be most economical. Maybe we could hitchhike! :moped:

Southwest airlines very often has "cheap" tickets to fly out of Buffalo. We are in Toronto and were planning to drive down next week but after being watchful of sales we managed to get a deal that actually saved us money - actually cheaper to pay for four tickets than drive down and pay for gas and a night or two in hotels.
Go to the Southwest website and sign up for DING they will contact you as sales come up - they are time sensitive so set it up on a computer you can check often.
To be "economical" - prepare to drive and look out for last minute sales. You never know when some **pixie dust** may come your way.
Hope you had a great time in WDW. We brought our eldest son down when he was 2.5yo, now we're finally bringing him back at the age of 8 with his 4yo little brother. We can't wait!!

WOW! Driving from upstate NY?! I drove to WDW 3 times in the past and it took me 17 hrs non stop. You're approximately another 7 hours north of me. We tried flying a few months ago and we will never drive there again. Save some money, watch for great fares online and fly. It adds to more time at the resort for relaxation instead of that horribly dreadful drive home after all the fun. I never realized how bad the drive was until we flew just once. After all that fun in the parks for the week, the long drive home killed all our happy spirits and good times we had on vacation. I won't drive that far again.

I wish you lots of Magical trips in the future and have safe travels whichever route you take.

We used to do the drive thing years ago, 1200 miles one way and we're flown a few times. I can't stand to fly and now we have been using Amtrak the last bunch of years. Wife doesn't care either way, but to get me there she takes the Amtrak. Its alittle longer by train time wise, but I'm fully relaxed and ready to go when we detrain in Kissimmee. Going home, we talk about our trip, eat in the dining car, have a few drinks and arrive home, relaxed and spent from 2 weeks of vacation bliss. No wrong turns, no high gas prices, no idiot drivers and no frazzeled nerves. Only way to go for us.
