Can someone on these boards please tell me the process for getting the Walt or Roy suite? I know it would probably be a few years out but how do you go about reserving it if the cruise dates are even released for 2007 and beyond? Thanks

We've been really lucky! Last October we had the Roy suite, this October we get the Walt suite!!! You can request to be put on a waiting list....be prepared to wait quite awhile though. The list can depend on what time of year you want to go...obviously during peak season the wait will be longer (upwards of 2 years) You can contact a Dreams representative and give them the information, so that when the date you are looking for becomes open, they can immediately put you down. Good luck!!

......and YES it's SO worth it!!!!

if you would like to take a look at pics from Roy O Disney suite, here's our link:

Wow. A DIS'er just snatched up the Walt suite for the 7/8/06 cruise like last week I believe. Must be a stroke of luck! :cool1:

Yup..that would be us! I couldn't believe it either. I was booking on board and requested thid mid ship cat 3 rooms for anytime next June or July..and all of them were booked. But Danielle said she had the Walt suite available for July 8, 2006 so we jumped on it!

When you book the Walt Suite, how many people does it accomodate? Also, how much more expensive is it?

Do you have to put a down-payment to be put on the waiting list?
Where can I find prices?

Thanks! :flower:

 Aisling...

We booked onboard last October (we already had a cruise scheduled for this summer, but when the Walt suite came open we changed our plans) we just transferred our deposit from other cruise to this one. Pretty easy, thanks to our friend Danielle! :goodvibes

Pricing can be quoted by any Dreams Unlimited agent. Price will depend on what time of year you are considering.

Any other questions, just pm me and I will do my best to answer them for you.

Hugs

We have stayed in the Walt Suite twice and the Roy Suite last year and are booked for the Roy suite June 24,2006. We have put our name on the waitlist through our TA and have been very lucky. Last year we were booked in a cat 2 and the Roy suite opened up shortly before sailing. We have had 7 people in the suite, which is the max you are allowed. For us it was worth it, but everyone has their own opinion.

We are staying in a royal famiy suite on RCL this year and I know it won't compare.

We have our name on the waitlist for 2007---I hope the Magic won't be going to CA again--sorry west coast cruisers---I guess we'll see--that's why we are trying RCL this year.

We stayed in the Royal Family Suite on the Voyager of the Seas in August 2003. We've stayed in the Cat. 2 on the Magic three times and we're booked in a Cat. 2 for our back-to-back cruises in August 2006. I can honestly say the Royal Family Suite on the Voyager couldn't even hold a candle to Disney's 2-bedroom suite. I think if I were to cruise with Royal Caribbean again I wouldn't bother booking the Royal Family Suite.

This is how we've booked the Cat. 2 on our last two cruises and for our upcoming back-to-back cruises. When we cruised in June 2004 we rebooked while aboard so we could get the 10 percent discount and $200 stateroom credit. We booked for the farthest dates out in December 2005. When the 2006 dates opened up I called Disney weekly until I got confirmation that we got the Cat. 2.

Personally, what I would do would be to book a cruise and asked to be placed on the waitlist. However, I would also fax a request to the Inventory Control Dept. 407-566-7739, give them your booking number(s) and requesting the Walt or Roy Disney suite, and most important, be flexible with your cruising dates. Then when the new cruise dates are released follow up by calling Disney and asking if your request has been granted. HTH and good luck!

Lisa, I am afraid that is how I'll feel about the RFS, but we'l see. I know to me I'll be comparing the whole cruise to DCL and missing the magic

RonnieJo, I'm booked for the upcoming Christmas Cruise in a Cat 6, but am planning for the not-to-distant future. I've seen your photos, and they are great! You guys look like you really know how to have fun!

I'm sure I'll have questions, because I've really made the decision to go for Walt's or Roy's place!

Try running a search or two. A lot of people don't like to discuss cruise finances so you might not see much. Me, personally, I don't care. That would be the best place to look though. Sadly highest category I've done is a 6.

Can't say exactly how much it'll cost you (depends on time of year ), but we go in October and it runs apprx. $11,000 for the 7 night.

Hope that helps...

I'm not sure about the Cat 1 but, I called to see how much it would be to upgrade from a cat4 to a cat3 and it was an additional $3000 for a 7 day west. (too much for me :sad2: )So I'm sure a cat1 would be be $5000 - $7000 more then the published cat4 rates.

Really? I don't see what the big deal is. All you have to do is call for a quote or even email for one.
Disney's prices don't vary very much between TA's.
