How to get the closest room?

What is the best way to get the closest room possible to the park when you are staying at PPI? Has anyone made a Disney planner, if so, any pics and suggestions? Would you please point me in the direction to the links that have the wonderful lists of what to pack, etc?

What building is the closest with at the Paradise Pier Hotel? What room number is the very closest to the entrance to Disneyland? What rooms should we try to avoid? Are there microwaves in the PPH?

I haven't stayed at PPH in a few years, but I can tell you that no rooms are close to the Disneyland entrance! You have to walk all the way thru DTD or the Grand to get the the main entrance.

Sorry, but I have no clue. My only guess would be to request a room near the elevator. Hopefully somebody will come along to help you.
