Read the stickies on the Rent/Trade board. The good news is that you can use points from any home resort within the 7 month window. Good luck!

I know you were trying to answer the PP's question but you can't post those specific details here. You need to delete the resort & dates from your post.

In general for transfers, you would review the rent/trade board and look for someone offering a transfer of that many points. If you are within 7 months you wouldn't need an owner at that particular resort. But you also may have difficulty on short notice at all - hard to say since it depends on the resort.

Because I needed some extra points and did not want the worry of buying them from a stranger, I went to Disboard sponsor "The Timeshare Store" after I saw in an email that they are now offering points for rent and transfer. I made one phone call and sent one email and had the points in my account (after paying thru PayPal) within a day. It was very slick and I would recommend it to anyone who needed some points for transfer.

So if I needed an additional 57 points to add to the points I already have to complete my reservation, it doesn't matter about the home resort since I would have to book seven months out with my points, I can contact the timeshare store and they can hook me up without having to go through the the posts on the rent/trade forum?
Sounds like it would be much easier. I am new to all this and it looks like you have to be quick to be able to catch anything. I am going to look into it.

That's great news! I was just wondering if any of the companies did transfers since i always seem to use up my points. How much was it per point?

Just curious as to how The Timeshare Store can have so many points available when there is a limit of one transfer in or out of a contract per year? Are they using their own points or working with owners who have points to make a reservation or transfer?
