How to get magicband when staying offsite

We are visiting wdw july 4 to july 18 and staying offsite. We were mailed 4 plastic cards which are our park passes. We also got memory maker. How do we get magicbands? Where do we buy them? Or should we stay onsite for just one night to get them?

You can order them in advance from Disney Store and link them to your MDE account yourself or you can wait and get them at the parks where the CM will link it to your tickets.

We will be there 4th of July as well! We asked someone we knew who was going to pick them up for us (I just haddddd to have a Tink one !). We have them linked and all ready to go!!

I would think it might cost you more to stay onsite one night than it would to just buy the magic bands.

MagicBands are available for purchase at numerous stores around the WDW Resort.

They're about $14 each, and really don't offer you much benefit over the plastic tickets if you're staying offsite. Both work pretty much the same.
AFAIK the only advantages of the band are:
- not having to fish the ticket out of your pocket or purse, when you enter the park or use your Fastpass.
- since you have Memory Maker, the sensors on the photo-equipped rides will automatically detect you, and your ride photo will be part of your MM photos. (you could probably add it to your MM photos by stopping at the ride's photo desk, but that takes a little extra time).

Having memory maker makes the magic band an absolute must, IMO. Without it you will miss a lot of ride photos and videos unless you are willing to waste a lot of time adding them manually at the ride exits.

We ordered ours online. My biggest issue is how I'm going to pack 7 of them in my luggage lol
I would imagine just putting them all in one pouch or something won't do any harm to them? Keeping them in the boxes will be too bulky.

I'm the lone traveler meeting my entire group down in Orlando. lol
I just offered to be keeper of them because honestly I don't trust the rest to not screw them up

I just need to plan to put them on top of my luggage cause I'm sure they'll show up funky on the airport xrays. I'm used to getting my luggage searched anyways since I usually pack a lot lol

you can buy them from the disney store website or you can buy them from pretty much any gift shop on property.

there's no need to stay at a disney world resort to get magic bands.

If you will be using Magical Express you will want to keep your MBs in your carry on luggage. You use them to check in at the ME loading area.

We haven't been since the switch to Magic Bands and we're going in a few weeks and staying offsite. I'm trying to decide whether to get the Magic Bands. I'm ordering tix from Undercover Tourist and I know I have to set up an account and link those to it in order to book fastpasses. Would I also be able to link the Magic Bands to the same account? And then our tix info would be available on our Magic Bands? Or is there another step I'm missing? Gosh, I feel like such a rookie again.

we aren't stay at a disney resort so I won't need them until we go to the parks. i'll probably put them in my carry-on for safe keeping anyways.
