Last year we took the boat over, but the first one wasn't running until 1/2 an hour before opening. By the time we got to MK there was quite a crowd.

Any suggestions?

TIA!

A 7 AM breakfast bus will get you to MK by 7:30 AM
Ask at the WL front desk for exact time of the breakfast bus.
Have fun !

See if there's a bus that heads over to a "Monorail resort" AFTER it stops at WL.
There are several buses that hop from resort-to-resort on their way to or from "other places".

If you're up REALLY early, take the bus to Epcot and ride the monorail back.
But, THAT takes dedication!

Other than WALKING over to TTC (or calling early for a CAB), that's about it.

(Oh yeah... Make friends with other WL guests who have a CAR!) :thumbsup2

This is a definite problem with the WL, which we love.
You can walk to the Contemporary and take the monorail from there. It's a long walk but doable!

TTC is closer/easier walk than the Contemporary... you don't need to walk DOWN under the "water bridge" then back UP the other side to reach the Contemporary.

Heck, if you walk to the Contemporary, its just 10-12 minutes MORE to continue on walking all the way to MK.

Thanks for the replies! I have never heard of being able to walk from WL to the TTC. How do you get there?

TIA!

I am not saying you SHOULD do this... just a THOUGHT that you COULD.

(No sidewalks so watch for traffic!!!)

Just follow the road from WL to the MK lot.

Pay attention when you ride a bus out of WL.

TTC is, of course, located just at the "closest corner" of the MK parking lot to WL.

We had an 8 am breakfast in December and the bus from WL was running at least an hour before the park opened. :)

Its been my experience over the last several years that its easier to get a bus at ANY time of day (early or late) from ALL STAR, CARRIBBEAN BEACH or other "distant" resorts than it is to catch one at WL.

I assume its due to WL having fewer guests AND its having at least SOME "alternate" transportation options.

Some of our "loneliest waits" at WDW have been waiting for a bus to ANYWHERE from the WL in the late evenings (and then it usually goes over to at least one other resort before heading to its posted destination).

AGAIN...
Before you choose to WALK...
ask if any of the busses "going ELSEWHERE" (like DAK or the Studios) will stop at WL, THEN go over and stop at say, the Poly, before going to its posted destination.

Riding one of these (and exiting at a Monorail Resort) would sure beat the early-morning WALK!

And yes, there are some very early-morning busses rolling.

We had extremely efficient bus service from WL to MK and back Dec 1-5 2005 - never took more than 5 minutes, and we never waited more than 10 minutes, except for one MK->WL trip, and that was a 20 minute wait.

We were on boats that went to the Contemporary at 7:15am, and buses to the MK at 7:45am.

The only stop the WL -> MK bus made was Ft Wilderness.
