This is our first time ever going to Disneyworld. I have dinner reservations at restaurants that are at other resorts, my question is how do you get from one resort to the next? Are they in walking distance of each other? We are staying at pop century and I heard their bus goes straight to the parks and not to other resorts. Thanks for any info or tips!

Congrats on your first trip to Disney World. Disney has buses that arrive and depart approx. every 20 minutes. Since you're going to be new. I suggest to leave yourself 60-90 minutes of time to get there just in case. Ex, if your reservation is at 5, I suggest starting to head for the buses just after 3:30. You can always ask a cast member too. Ive never had an employee tell me "I don't know". If they don't, they'll find out for you. Hope you have a good time.

Take the bus from your resort to the closest park and then switch to the bus that goes to the resort you want to visit. Easy-peasy. The buses and stops are very well marked at the parks and resorts. Just allow some extra time to get to your ADR.

I would suggest posting any specific questions you have about getting from one resort to the other in the Transportation board.

Tell us where you need to get to (for your ADRs) and where you'll be leaving from...we can give you exact info! Transportation is easy at WDW. It's all very well marked. It's only when going from resort to resort that things get complicated. Can it be done? Absolutely. But, you need to know what you're doing.

If going to a resort near MK(Poly,GF,Contemporary),take the MK bus and then take the resort monorail to the resort, for Wilderness Lodge or Ft.Wilderness, bus or boat from MK.If going to an Epcot Resort take a DHS bus and walk(10-15 min) or take a boat to those resorts(Y&B club,Boardwalk,Swan and Dolphin).AKL take a bus to AK and transfer to a bus to AKL.Port Orleans or SSR,pick a park and take a bus or go to DTD where you can also get a bus or a boat.At DTD you can also take a bus to any resort.WDW is huge so getting from place to place can take an hour or more, especially if having to make transfers.

Thank you guys you have taken a lot of stress of my mind! I was just worried about it not being easy to get from place to place.

The main one I have a question about is getting to chef mickeys from pop century since it is for our 1st night we arrive we wont be at any of the parks.

Take the bus to the magic kingdom, then take the monorail over to the contemporary resort or you can also take the bus, I would say the monorail would be easier and quicker.

Done this many times myself, POP. Is my favorite value

There is no bus from MK to CR....unless, of course, they stuck one in to cover for the monorail not running. But with the boat and the ability to walk, a bus makes little to no sense.

I always take the bus to the MK, then walk over to the CR. It is almost always faster than taking the monorail. So, when you get off the bus, at MK, follow the herd out of the bus area. The vast majority of people will head to the left at the end of the bus stop area, you want to go right! You will see a sidewalk, underneath the monorail track....follow this to the CR. MK will be on your left, the bus drop off area on your right. Come to a street, push the pedestrian button, cross, and you're at the CR. Takes less than 10 mins.

If you were to take the monorail, you would follow the herd, they will turn off to the right to go to bag check at MK, you would continue walking straight, toward the monorail platform. Wait for the car to come, board and then hop off at the CR. It takes a few minutes to walk there, then a possible wait of 10-15 mins for the next monorail to come, 5 mins sitting there, then 5 mins to the CR.
Your choice.

Very true about the walking path between MK and the Contemporary,a bus from a resort to MK and then walking over to the Contemporary is as close as youll get to a direct bus from POP to Contemporary, just a 5-10 minute walk to the hotel. You could do a 5 minute walk to the monorail but then you have to wait for it to come and unload/load,timewise it's quickest to walk.

Great plan- OP if you have a specific question it's best to ask that for each place you want to go other than parks..... I have many times taken a bus to MK and walked over to Contemp. for dinner..... to get back to your room just reverse.....
Oh, my best advice is to allow about one hour to get from one resort to another.... it can take 15 minutes,or it can take an hour...depends on the traffic flow, etc. worst case if you arrive at Contemp/ early, lots of sightseeing right there to enjoy while you wait!

Most people here will recommend 90 minutes to get from one resort to another due to having to wait for two legs of transportation. One hour should be fine for the Contemporary though since the second leg is just a 10 minute walk with no waiting involved.

If you have a smartphone, look for the WDW Transportation Wizard on the app store TWiz I beleive. It is great, you put in your start and destination and it pops up with the routes and approximate times, excellent resource

Just beware that last I heard this was not updated and some routes are no longer available or are not actually the best option. One example is that some times it tells you to go to TTC via bus to transfer, but no buses usually go there anymore. Another is that it might suggest someone at a Epcot resort walk to Epcot to get a bus or monorail, but does not indicate that you need admission to that park.

Thanks very much, I will take that in to account, seems a shame, I liked the app
