Firstimer here! :earsgirl: Going in Feb and will be at Mk through the afternoon, but need to get to MGM for 5:30 ADR. What is the fastest/most efficient way to do so? And how long will it take? I've read all the books, but Im still getting confused by the transportation! :confused3

I'd think the disney buses would be the easiest. you can take a bus right from mk to mgm.

Let's have some fun....

MK - monorail to the Contemp, GF or Poly and bus to MGM
Monorail to TTC and bus to MGM

adventure route (leave an hour & 1/2 at least for travel) - monorail to TTC - switch to EPCOT monorail - walk through EPCOT to the World and boat (by France & England) to MGM.

adventure route is and adventure -not direct :teeth:

Unless something changed, you couldn't take a bus from Magic Kingdom to MGM. I wouldn't count on that until you are 100% certain. If I was in a hurry, I would walk to the Contemporary and find out where their bus stops are.

Second choice would be to take a bus to Boardwalk Inn and walk to MGM, it's about 15 minutes from there.

Third choice is to take the MK to Wilderness Lodge boat and then on to MGM on the bus.

Last choice is to walk to the resort bus stop, get on the first one and then take the MGM bus from there.

I found the quickest way was to hop on the monorail at MK, get off at the first resort they stop at....I think GF? And then take the bus from the resort to MGM.

There isn't a bus from MK to MGM I don't think...I think you'd have to go MK to TTC, then get a bus to MGM. It's much quicker to get off at one of the monorail resorts.

If you don't mind a 5 or so minute walk, I do think that walking to the Contemporary and then catching the bus there would be the fastest. If you keep walking straight toward the Contemporary once you get close stay to the left of the tower, the bus stop is right at that door, very convenient for you. I would allow at least an hour plus how early you want to be for your ADR.

If you want to do less walking, you could also take the monorail to the Contemporary, and then you have to take the elevator down to the first floor to catch the bus. I would still allow an hour for this too.

How long do you think this will take? :confused3 I want to make sure to plan enough time.

Eeyore...do you think this is better than the monorail to GF? I dont mind a 5 min walk if it is truly only aobut 5 min. With 2 small kids, more than that might make them crabby! :headache: Thanks much...I love this board!

P.S. I am a cheesehead too! Live in WI!

I would estimate by the time you leave the park gates until you arrive at MGM, around 45-60 minutes. Always plan for the worse.
