How to get from BWV to other places

We are going to be staying at the Boardwalk Villas. I am wondering how direct the bus routes are to various locations. What is the most direct route to:
Epcot
Magic Kingdom
Typhoon Lagoon
Hollywood Studios
Downtown Disney
Animal Kingdom
Whispering Canyon Cafe

Are they all where we have to go to the TTC and then transfer or are there some that will be more direct. Ineed to figure out how much time to leave in order to make it for our ADRs.

To go from any park except Epcot from the MK you have to go thru TTC to catch a bus. To any resort from the MK you can catch a direct bus. To Epcot from MK you take the monorail to the TTC and catch the Epcot Monorail!

So the resort has several different buses that come and I get on the one going to the place I want to go?

We do not go on the monorail at all?

We have a meal at the Comtemporary so How do I do that?

Again - I am sorry - I have stayed off property and had rental cars in the past so this is all so confusing to me.

The resort will have buses going to all the parks except DHS. For example you want to go to the MK. You will wait for the bus with MK on the electronic sign and get on it and it will take you to the MK. Same with the other parks except DHS. You will have to take a boat (boat dock is on the boardwalk) to DHS or walk on the path(no buses).

There are no buses that go from one resort to another. You have to transfer thru a park or DTD.


You don't have to take the monorail at all if you don't want. The exception is if you are at the MK and want to go to Epcot or want to go to one of the resorts on the monorail (Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Contemporary).

So if you wanted to go from BWV to Contemporary. You would take the MK park bus to the MK and either take the monorail to the contemporary or take the walkway from the MK to the contemporary.


Their are two monorail lines so make sure you take the right one. One runs from the TTC to the MK and back with no resort stops (express line). There is also a resort line (take if you want to go to a resort aka the contemporary) that goes MK, Contemporary, TTC, Polynesian, Grand Floridian back to the MK.

You can also walk into Epcot from the BWV. No need to take a bus.

There is no bus to Epcot from BWV. Boat or walk are the only options, that will take you to the International Gateway entrance. There's no direct transportation to the front entrance of Epcot.

The International Gateway opens at the same time as the front of the park. You have to turn left and go past United Kingdom & Canada, the right turn towards France is roped off. I have heard they sometimes allow entrance a few minutes early but you are then held by the Future World entrance near Canada until park opening. If you have a breakfast ADR for Norway, they will let you in earlier, they have a list.

All the buses leave BW/BWV from the same bus stop....at the front of the resort. It is very clearly marked. You will get a bus, from there, to MK, AK, DTD, and Typhoon Lagoon. These buses will go right to those areas..you may make some stops at other resorts (S/D or YC/BC) but you won't have to change buses anywhere.
For Epcot and DHS, you will have two options....walking along the sidewalks or taking a Friendship boat. It takes about 8 mins to get to the International Gateway and about 18 mins to get to DHS. The boat to DHS will take about 20 mins and the boat to Epcot, about 7-8 mins. The International Gateway opens at the same time as the main front entrance to Epcot. You may be allowed to enter a wee bit early (about 10-15 mins before the park opens) but be held at some point closer to FutureWorld..this gives those entering at the Gateway the same amount of walking to Soarin' and TT at park openiing.

To get to Whispering Canyon Cafe, you need to do it a bit differently. You could go to DHS (on foot or by boat) and take the WL bus from there. Or, you can take the MK bus from BWV, and then take the boat to WL from there. I like the boat..it's fun and relaxing.

It seems complicated but it isn't. Once you get there, and see how it works, you'll be surprised at how easy it all is. Everything is very well marked, so you should have no problems.
