Thanks! Yup, I'm trying to brain wash him (not literally) into liking the characters!

So far, Successful!

Perhaps watching lots of disney movies will get them more familar with the characters.

Also, there are sing a lot videos that will show people interacting with the characters.

Read up on PhotoPass -- it's great for getting lots of really fun family photos, with the whole family, and/or just the kids together, etc. It's fun to get character autographs and photos to make a fun scrapbook to remember the trip. It's also fun to have pictures when the kids are little, with characters, to compare to some in future years as you all get bigger. You can be silly, and ham it up and have some really fun photos. Nothing says WDW vacation like photos with the characters! Fun, fun, fun!!!

What a great idea, the photopass is definitely the way to go. Your family might be motivated to get their family photos done this way. Vacation pics are the only family pictures we have.

Why not try a character meal early in the trip? That can help get them in the mood and see how fun characters are since they're comming right to your table. I might recommend 1900 Park Fare or Garden Grill.

I think the worst thing you can do is use tactics to force characters on them. Once they see how much you love it, they may decide to give an autograph or picture a try with you and then they will be willing to stand in line each time you want to.

A few months before leaving, why don't you mail a card or note to each of them at separate times from a character telling them how excited you (the character) are that they are coming to Disney World.

They just may not ever get excited! sorry, my DD loved getting the autographs at 5 but as she got older was more excited about going on the rides etc. My son never did get into the characters never wanted to go to a character meal and forget my DH. We were there for over a week this summer and I have 1 picture of the kids with a character only cause we were standing right where they came out and no one else was there and they did it for Mom! My family does love going to Disney and get very excited about going so just take it at face value that you like it and they don't but I bet they get excited about something you may not so try some give and take. You'll have fun.
