How to get a new guide, and

It's been many years since I added on, my guide Kelly Jo Williamson retired a few years ago. How hard is it to get a new guide, and are people still waiting hours on hold to get through? I can't to the online add on because I'm in Ontario, Canada, so I need to speak to someone.

My guide retired as well. Just call the sales number and you will now be assigned to whomever is up next in the queue. Hopefully you will get someone you enjoy working with.

Some people post on here to ask for referrals so that they get a guide that others think is knowledgable, reputable and easy to work with.

That's what I did at first. They were ok but not great. Right off she complained about these boards. When I finally requested a new guide from DVC I was assigned to an excellent Sr guide who retired a couple of years later.

What is there to complain about? They have no flexibility on pricing and can't even throw in an extra dvc bag to sweeten the deal. If anything, referrals help their sales numbers. Heck, we'd be happy to take our direct purchases to another guide if this one didn't need any help hitting sales target this year.

Are we allowed to post specific DVC Guides?
My guide (I joined 2001 member) was working from home and then decided to retire instead of returning. He was an original guide and was excellent. Last week I finally decided to go to Riviera for tour .
I guess it was my lucky day cause my new guide is incredible. I barely waited 5 minutes for him to greet me in the RR lobby and we walked down hall to his office and the friendly conversation we shared - revealed he had studied my history with DVC . Made it so much fun and gave me confidence I would enjoy working with him as my new Guide. He didn’t take it for granted that he was automatically going to be my guide....we have had a couple conversations on phone about a purchase I am considering and today he said he hoped he would be my new guide in the future. I said oh You are my guide !
I hope it is alright to share but I am not certain about Dis board policy. I will wait and post tomorrow if I get the OK....

We are also in Ontario and had the pleasure of Kelly Jo as our guide. I wonder what she is up to. Last time we talked she was about to marry a golf pro and move to South Florida I think. She was very nice.
