How to Fold a Fitted Sheet

Tidy up your linen closet for life by learning how to correctly fold a fitted sheet.

Steps:
1. Wash and dry your sheets before folding and storing them.

2. Remove sheets from dryer while they are still warm so that they do not wrinkle. If the sheets are already cool, put them back in the dryer with a moist cloth for a couple of minutes.

3. Put your right hand in the right top corner of the sheet, and fold the left top corner of the sheet over your right hand.

4. Keep holding the sheet with your right hand and gather up a bottom corner, folding it over the right hand as well.

5. Take the remaining corner and fold it over your right hand.

6. Fold the sheet into a square, then continue folding in half until you have reached the desired size.

I hate folding fitted sheets, always end up looking like a crumpled mess. I may have to print this out and try out.

or you could just fold it up in a ball

I am currently a subscriber of the "Pop Daddy Method"
but I might try to do it the other way
Thanks for posting!

My grandmother showed me how to do this and it is very easy. But I prefer just to put them back on the bed. :)

Thanks for the info. I HATE folding fitted sheets. I'm going to try that.

Great idea! Now I know how to teach my kids. Funny, all these years I never knew a 'correct' way to do this.

One other thing we do is take the folded fitted sheet + the folded flat sheet, and put them inside the pillow case. That way all the matching parts are together in a little set, and they don't get lost in the closet. :sunny:

Wow -I would have never thought of that. Sometimes the simpliest things never occur to me. I will have to start doing that

Just before folding it for the last time, place the flat sheet and pillowcases in and viola! - you have a complete sheet set ready to be placed on your beds!

I like the idea of washing it and just putting it back on the bed.....takes away a lot of hassle!

This is my way!

I do give it my best effort, but in the end, they always come out looking like a big football.

I'm an ace at folding fitted-sheets -- my wife jokes sometimes that it is the main reason she married me. :)

However, the method described on Target's web site is CHEATING -- they're using a TABLE.

hehe - that is my method as well.
remove sheets from bed
wash sheets (yes - bed is naked at this time)
dry sheets
put sheets back on bed.

and when I switch from cotton to flannel...I wash both sets (as the flannel ones have been sitting in the closet for months), put the flannel on, roll up the cotton fitted sheet in a ball, toss in linen closet (gonna have to wash it again anyway)

but I WILL attempt this tonight...just bought new flannel sheets..have to wash them...taking the cotton ones off tonight.

Thanks for the link! (the pictures make it make more sense!)
