We are cruising out of Port Canaveral Christmas week and have been looking for a good deal but it has been a challenge. How do we find the best cruise deal?

Don't cruise Christmas week. :goodvibes

Sorry, that is one of the most expensive weeks to cruise. If I were you I would check with different travel agents and have them price out cruises for you. You can also check with the cruiselines' own websites for any specials. I wouldn't expect to find really any deals as that is one of the most popular weeks of the year and I would expect all ships to be filled to capacity.

HTH and good luck!

I just went on a Carnival cruise the end of May. I booked when they had a special about 4 months out. As we got closer to the date, Carnival ran 2 better prices on the cruise. I called Carnival directly and they lowered the price of the cruise both times. My cruise ended up being about $400 lower by the time I left.

just so you know travel agents charge you the same price you get thru the cruise company themselves(they have to ...only thing you can get from a ta is "perks" on board credits, they pay for your tips, those types of things) if your looking for different cruises look on vacations to go dot com put in your dates and the port and go from there yes christmas week is a very busy week another idea is to check out cruise critic dot com is like the disboards but for cruises good luck and cruising is fun

Another place to shop around is cruisecompetedotcom. You tell them where and when and they basically put it out to bid.

For a cruise over Christmas week you best bet is to book as earl as possible. Those sailings are almost certain to be full--meaning no last minute deals or specials and the price will just continue to climb as rooms sell and the sailing gets closer.

Other than that all you can do is look for a travel agent which gives a good on board credit to try to reduce the impact on your pocketbook. Personally, I like having a great agent I really trust so I don't look for the very best OBC and instead stick with someone I know I can count on--but others seem to do fine hopping about from agent to agent with each trip to get the OBC:goodvibes
