How to find standard room availability?

I've been looking at rooms/packages on the Disney reservations site. If a room comes up and it doesn't give you an option to downgrade to 'standard', does that mean that level of service is booked up on those dates? For example, I am given a 'water view' room with options to upgrade, but there is no choice to downgrade to 'standard'. Thanks!

Typically yes, that's what it means.

To be absolutely sure, you should call the Disney reservations line and have them check for you.

Try doing it today. Yesterday when I was on the site it didn't seem to be working correctly.

I called and it was accurate, they did not have the standard room available (for all the days I needed in a row).
