How to find out if there are AP discounts?

I am going to be purchasing an AP for an upcoming trip. Is there a way to find out if there are AP discounts for the resorts and if so, can I book it even though I won't have my AP until then? (I can't purchase it ahead of time because my daughter is doing the college program so have to wait till she starts so I can use her discount.)

You can call the Disney reservations line and ask or ask your TA. Yes, you can book at an AP discount before you have purchased them. They say you have to just show your pass at check-in, but we weren't even asked for ours.
