How to find out about events/conventions at Disney

How do you find out about events at Disney? We'll be there March 7-14,
and are finding it difficult to get reservations at our chosen property March 10-13. What event is going on then? Where do we look so we can plan
for a lighter time?

Generally, the conventions take place during the "lightest" times of the year at WDW. They may fill the hotels, but they generally have little or no impact on the parks.

There is no central registry. Each convention publicizes itself. You can often use Google to find many of them.

While this isnt the most accurate (not everyone having an event with be at Disney, not everyone at Disney will be at the convention center). Here is the calendar for the Orange County Convention Center.

March is spring break season, which may be the problem.

mousesavers.com has a blurb on their FAQ page about best and worst times to visit WDW. If you're picking a general time to go, that might be a good place to start.

We have the same problem. The Swan and Dolphin is booked May 12-13. I couldn't find a convention going on those dates. Maybe they're full for Mother's Day weekend. Every other hotel I checked had availability though.

We are staying at CSR and I googled "Convention CSR" and the week we are going. It brought up blurbs about which conventions will be there that week. So far we will have convention crowds just 3 out of the 6 days.

it isn't listed on there, but i think that is one of the weekends for Grad Night
not sure though

I think i might know.... i ALWAYS check events at WWS becasue those events usually bring in more crowds, you will be pleased ( ) to know that March 10-12 is the 2006 National All-Star Cheerleading Championship
