How to find hotel deals

We want to stay at Universal resort (probably HRH) in August. When should I start booking the room? Where do I find the best deals? On the Universal Orlando website it lists a rate of $234 a night including park passes, and it also lists the same rate without passes. Is there another website I should look at? On the Universal website, it doesn't have option for AAA rate. Where do I look for that? What is supersaver rate? Where do I look for that and APH rates? I'm not sure if there is somewhere other than Universal website to look for rates. Is it better to call?

The short answer is call Loews. They have more rates than are shown on the website.

I phoned Universal the other day and was given the AAA discount over the phone so you could try that - I just phoned and asked if there was any discounts for the dates I wanted!

Well I called Universal (I had a hard time trying to find AAA rate online) and got a price of $187 for HRH in room with obstructed view, in end of Aug. with AAA discount. I don't know if this is a good rate, or if it will come down lower as it gets closer to Aug.??
They didn't have any supersaver rates for this date. Maybe it is too early.
