How to find hotel deals by disneyland 2 weeks before trip?!

I am trying to find a good but cheap hotel for Oct 20-25th. Any pointers for me? Cheaper Hotels nearby that you love?
Its our first family vacation that isnt to visit family!
Our first time to Disneyland! Please help me figure out how to find something available and cheap but decent

We've often done hotwire and ended up with great results. Sometimes we're a good mile walk, but when you consider the distance relative to WDW it doesn't feel nearly so bad. Basically any 4 star on hotwire near DL and you know you're in a pretty good hotel.

Not sure if the prices but we stayed at the Marriott across the street... It was nice, reasonable but the breakfast was nothing but doughnuts

DL vet here! Seconding go ask on the Disneyland forum here on the disboards. A number of people over there are familiar with the area hotels right around Disneyland since many DL guests stay offsite.

Personally, I'd check Orbitz, Kayak, or other hotel travel sites and sort by distance to the park. Will you have a car, or are you planning to walk is the first question you would be asked on the boards. If you're walking you'll really need close but if you have a car that will open up your hotel options- and don't forget to find out what the hotel charges for parking, that can be $15-20 more per night or free depending on the hotel. Get the names of a few hotels that are the price range you are looking for and then ask the forum for opinions on them, odds are there will be a couple people who've stayed at the hotels you'll ask about.
