How to "entertain" toddlers while in line?

my DS5's Leapfrog Explorer, or this year, his Leappad. Works great in the car, airports on the plane and for waiting in line.

It's educational, so I dont feel so guilty and it absolutely removed the whining, and restlessness.

Oh, and dont forget your rechargable batteries!

As others have said, get to the park before opening. Use FastPasses. Use a touring plan for minimal lines. Chose not to get in a line that's longer than you are willing to wait. It's perfectly possible to get to do most if not everything you want to without spending more than 20 minutes in any one line.

Sing songs, tell stories. Let them play with your smart phone or have a little toy you can carry around in your park bag or pockets.

For our last trip I read all the similar tips here and packed things like pipe cleaners, sticker books, etc. to use in lines - and we never needed them.

We tried to minimize lines as much as possible, and beyond that my girls (16 mo and 2.5 yo) were both happy enough just absorbing everything around them, talking, playing I spy, singing songs together, etc.

We'll have our iPhone's for DS to play with and watch shows on. We'll probably also throw a couple of cheap dollar store toys in our park bag for him to play with, along with some pipe cleaners.
