How To Ensure That Free Arrival Day Water Park Benefit Is Used Instead of Day Ticket

This is slightly complicated:

• We are staying 2 nights at a Disney Spring Hilton, followed by a week at Riviera
• I bought Hopper + Water Park tickets before they announced the 2025 Water Park Arrival Day benefit.
• The tickets are good as of our arrival day at the Hilton.
• I want to use the free water park day on the day we check in to Riviera. We won't go to a regular park that day.
• I want to be certain that the entry to the water park triggers the free benefit, and does not use up a ticket day.

I am concerned that no matter what I do, it will come out wrong. I'm guessing my best bet is to stop by Guest Services before entering the water park. Any other suggestions or experience with this sort of issue? I know that people with non-expiring tickets have all sorts of trouble having them used up when they want to use regular tickets or an AP.

Stopping at guest services and also double checking which benefit was used once you tap into the water park is the best you can do. Worst thing that will happen is it will pull from your water park ticket benefits. There is no chance a theme park ticket will be used when tapping into a water park. Personally I would stop at guest services both upon arrival and exit of the water park to make sure the right benefit is pulled.

You'll have a better chance for the resort benefit to be used if you tap your phone and not your magic band.
Make sure the NFC/ contact less payments is enabled on your phone.
Bring up the WDW app
Scroll to the resort benefit ticket and scan in each person, making sure you only tap when the correct ticket is showing, they might not be all in a row in the app.

Thank you. I did not even realize the resort benefit showed on the app as a ticket. Looking now, the benefit is noted under the Hotel Reservation, but it is not there as a ticket. The Tickets section of the App just has our regular tickets. Does that the benefit ticket show up Day Of?
