How to dress in December?

Not sure where to post this but I'll be going to Disney in December. I've never gone this month and was wondering what to wear. What is the average temperature for the month. Any helpful info would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've been to WDW several times in December. It think one pair of shorts, a few pairs of capris and a pair of pants. Tops, short sleeves and bring a sweater. You can wear your bathing suit but some days it's in the high 70s so, it's not the best weather for that.

Mornings are in the 50s and days are in the high 70's or 80's. Evenings can get as low as 45.

Bring short sleeves, but also have something like a hooded sweatshirt to wear over it. We went this past Dec. and I brought long pants and short sleeve shirts. A couple of days we were fine w/ just the t-shirts and pants, other days we had the hoods of the sweatshirts over our heads. It was consistently cold at night in the 50's (cold to someone from MS). So, basically my advice would be to bring clothes that are easily layered and shoved into a backpack.

Last year we visited the last few days of November and the first few days of December. We wore shorts and short sleeve tops the first couple of days then it got a bit cooler and we wore pants and short sleeve shirts. The last couple of days we wore pants and short sleeve shirts during the day and took a sweat shirt or jacket tied around our waist for evenings. Only one night did we need light gloves- those stretchy kind you can get for nothing. I think you have to pack for all temps when you go at that time of year. We are going again this year, but later in the month of Dec. and will probably take more long sleeve shirts and pants than shorts. Have fun. Its a great time to go.

Do you own a winter coat? Hat? Scarf? Gloves? When we went at Christmas 2004, there were wind chill warnings. Wind chills were in the 20s. This is us on 12/26/04.

Now, on 12/30, the kids swam at Blizzard Beach. It was still about 70 and I didn't swim but it was better than the day we had to get out every warm garment that we owned!

The weather really doesn't matter. After all, it's WDW. If you notice in our picture, we're still smiling. But if you are going in December, plan for ANYTHING!!!

Have a GREAT time!!!

We have been the past two years around Dec 19th and both years were very cool. During the day at the very least we needed long sleeves and at night we had to have a jacket, and gloves felt really good too. Just remember the later in December it gets the colder it gets.

It can be warm or cold in December. You can always tell in the parks the folks from cold climates. They are the ones in shorts when the temps are in the 60-70's. The Floridians are in long pants and sweatshirts.

Since the weather seems so variable, I am going to check the 10 day forecast the day before I leave and pack accordingly.

Bring a variety . . . when we were there in December we were in shorts and t-shirts the whole time, it was in the high 80's. You just can never tell.

I've gone many times in early December and it varies widely. I've had trips where I wore shorts everyday and trips where I didn't wear them at all and some a mix. One year we did bring light winter coats and gloves, it got very cold at night. Be ready for anything.

We go right after Thanksgiving for a week. We usually wear tshirt and shorts during the day and bring a sweatshirt. But then again we are from upstate NY and anything above 60 feels good to us at that time of the year!!! :joker:

we were there this past Dec 10 thru 15 it was definatly NOT shorts weather. we had maybe 1 day at 70 the rest were chilly and windy. My dd did get in the pool like a few other crazy kids the moms were huddled drinking something warm, the lifeguards had on gloves and earmuffs but it only took 1 day swimming in the freezing weather to stop the begging everytime we walked past the pool. I guess she decided it was a bad idea and mom knew what she was talking about..MVMCP on the 13th we took our winter coats, hats and gloves and by 10 pm we definatly were glad we had them. I ended up buying us each a couple of sweatshirts in addition to what we had brought from home. It would not have been so bad temperature wise but the wind really made it cold. Made the snow that fell in different places seem a little more in place. I was in a quandry :confused3 last year too about what to pack checked every weather report I could find consulted family that live there and still didn't quite have it right. I did pack stuff that could be worn with multiple things and planned on layering. as time got closer and I could tell we were going chilly all but 1 pair of shorts were taken out and I never wore those your other choice is a suitcase for each season then you're bound to have everthing...Good Luck and have an awesome time. It's very beautiful at holiday time :thumbsup2

I have been living in FL for 16 years so my cold may not be a northerners cold ha ha. We have gone the last 2 Dec early in the month and we wear jeans and a tee, maybe a light jacket in the daytime and at night we layer up, long sleeve shirts, sweaters, fleece jackets that kind of thing.

The last 2 years it was in the high 50's and low 60's in the day with the sun shining and at night the low 40's with a breeze

We have the Xmas ears hats on so that helps too
