How to do a transfer?

We are new ro the club. Sorry if this question seems to be very basic and already posted somewhere.

How do we do a point transfer if we have unused point? Do we just call MS and let them know which account we would like to have the point transfer to?

Btw, can we transfer banked point?

I just did a transfer in of points from another member. You are allowed to transfer points that have not yet been banked or borrowed.

If you want to transfer them to another member, you can call, give them the name and city and member # of person who will receive the transfer. It is really easy.

Remember, transferring for money is against DVC rules so its wise not to mention this to the CM if it is happening as many won't process the transfer if they know.

The points won't usually show up for the other member but if they call, then can verify the points are there.

The points I got were the same resort and UY as the one I own so I can see that I have them on the member website under "transferred in" for the UY of the points.

I would suggest calling DVC Member Services to help with your transfer request. I couple rules to remember about transferring points: you can only do 1 transfer per year, cannot transfer banked or borrowed points, you can bank transferred points.

You don't need to give member services the member number of the person you transferring the points too. Only the name and city and state. You don't really want to provide your member number to someone else. I'm not sure how it works if there are 2 John Does in the same city.

The Home Resort Rules and Regs state this:

Transfer requests may be made by phone and must be confirmed in writing, by mail, fax or E-mail, to Member Services.

Although I've never heard anyone mentioning they had to do an email confirming the transfer after they did it by phone.
 
I have done it before where I setup a conference call with the person I transferred the points to and member services. This way the other member could answer any questions while we were in the call. Easy.
