This is the first time that I have ever had to do a 3 way call with a renter. How do you do the 3 way call so that your renter doesn't hear the last 4 of your Social Security number when you are talking to MS?

Thanks!

You can call MS, give your personal info, and then let them know that you are going to add another party to the line... put MS on hold, dial in the renter and bring back MS. Good luck!

Wow. I am suprised MS will hold on that long!

Why bother? If you were really unscrupulous, you would just call MS right back and cancel the reservation after you got the payment from the non-member. Is your renter paying for the call?

A knowledgeable renter knows you could do that, but it still makes them more comfortable...and it doesn't take long to bring them into the call.

The other reason is that with the renter on the line, they can ask and answer questions and make decisions about things like requests, DME, DDP, etc.

They asked for one.

I have two lines and call Disney on one and the renter on the other. If you only have one line switch off conf. call then back on. :confused3

Well I guess it doesn't matter much anymore because the buyer backed out. I will keep this information though.

Thanks everyone!

So? They can ask for the sky, but it won't guarantee that you aren't a scammer. And I'm sure you aren't, but the three way call is no guarantee.

FWIW, we rented many times before buying into DVC and never asked for a 3 way call. Trust works both ways in renting points. If they won't trust you, can you really trust them?

Obviously not, since they backed out! I know many here have been advised to ask for these things, but that's the quickest way for me to not bother.
Too much trouble for too little gain. Stop letting people run you in circles for $10 a point :dance3:

they don't deserve the pixie dust:wizard:

I agree, Who ever advised such a thing? There is not any security in a 3 way at all. I have never done a 3 way call and I don't plan on starting now. The two I have tried on various occasions, the other party was hung up on. I am just not going to go to the trouble, then have to start all over again. I go above and beyond as it is, I answer every question they could possibly ask. A 3 way call just can't make them feel that secure.
