I have always manually cropped my photos to squares when needed, but I would like a program that allows you to move the square around on the photo and pick what you want in the square. I have downloaded a few free programs to do so, but they tend to kill my resolution and make the photos print grainy (like scribes and asquareimage) . Does anyone know a photo editing software that would work and still give me printable images?

Do you print them at home? If so, I don't know of anything free that would help with this. However, if you are looking for options of others printing - scrapbookpictures.com has a lot of size options, plus when you edit the photos in the cart, you can move the square around and zoom in if wanted.

I am really looking for something that I can use at home and print after I edit. Right now I am trying an exploding box and I need little square photos and I really dont want to manually crop 20 of them. If there is a photoediting software package to buy I would do that as well. I have three on my computer that do different things, but none do that!:headache:

Not sure how much you want to spend (if anything) or what you're looking for, but I use Microsoft Digital Image Suite. You can choose a shape or a pixel by pixel size square for resizing if memory serves.

I love this program, I've bought the last 3 versions that were out.
